CPI-M politburo member and former Chief Minister of the Left Front government, Manik Sarkar, expressed scepticism about the BJP’s chances in the upcoming state elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Mizoram.

Addressing a gathering in Belonia, Sarkar accused the central government of losing touch with the common people, citing their detachment as a significant factor in the expected electoral defeat.

Sarkar accused that the BJP government, since coming to power, has failed to meet the aspirations of the people, resulting in a nation facing severe crises. He highlighted the struggles of the poor, including farmers and daily wage workers, asserting that they were the hardest hit.

The former Chief Minister’s remarks were part of a larger protest organised by the CPI-M Belonia subdivisional committee against concerns such as unusual price increases for necessary necessities.

The protest march, attended by party leaders like Tapas Datta, Shudhan Das, and Basudeb Majumdar, aimed to draw attention to pressing concerns affecting the public.
