Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Ratan Lal Nath announced that Tripura farmers received a total of Rs 44.50 crore in the 15th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme.

Around 2,22,155 farmers in the state benefited from this financial assistance as Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the latest installment. Nath emphasised that the PM-KISAN scheme has contributed significantly to improving the income of farmers in Tripura.

To date, the state has disbursed a total of Rs 640.43 crore to farmers under the PM-KISAN scheme. The funds have been distributed across various districts, including Rs 103.43 crore in Dhalai district, Rs 102.30 crore in Gomati district, Rs 58.32 crore in Khowai district, and varying amounts in other districts. Minister Nath highlighted the remarkable increase in farmers’ income under the current government, noting a rise from Rs 6,580 in 2016–17 to Rs 11,096 in the financial year 2020–21. The state government aims to further raise farmers’ monthly income to Rs 13,590 as part of its ongoing initiatives.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi-initiated PM-KISAN scheme continues to serve farmers across the country by providing financial assistance and improving agricultural well-being. The recent installment underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing the economic prosperity of farmers in Tripura.
