Tripura teen author Oindrila Chakraborty invited to Emirates Literature Festival 2026 in Dubai. The 14-year-old writer and podcaster will represent India at one of the world’s most prestigious global literary events.
Fourteen-year-old author and podcaster Oindrila Chakraborty from Tripura has been invited to present at the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature (ELF) 2026, scheduled to be held in Dubai from January 21 to 27 next year, marking a significant milestone in her young literary career.
Chakraborty’s participation has been officially listed on the Emirates Literature Festival’s website, confirming her inclusion as a presenting author at one of the Middle East’s most prestigious literary events. Organised by the Emirates Literature Foundation, the festival is widely regarded as the UAE’s flagship platform for literature, ideas and cultural dialogue.
Now in its 18th edition, the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature aims to promote reading, nurture writers and support literary ecosystems by engaging readers, students, teachers, publishers and librarians through non-profit initiatives. The 2026 edition is expected to feature more than 200 writers from across the world, along with panel discussions, workshops, school-focused programmes and major international literary awards.
Officials associated with the festival said the inclusion of Chakraborty reflects ELF’s emphasis on encouraging emerging voices and strengthening youth participation in literature. Her presentation will place her alongside established international authors, thinkers and cultural figures.
Despite her young age, Chakraborty has already built a notable literary profile. She published her first novella, The Adventures of the Legendary Queen, at the age of 11, followed by her second book, Shadows of Rosalia, at 13. Both titles were published by Notion Press and are available globally through major online platforms, including Amazon and Kindle. Her debut novella has also been selected for presentation at the Emirates Kids Literature Festival 2026.
In addition to writing, Chakraborty runs a podcast channel focusing on book reviews and documentary-style literary content, contributing to youth-led reading initiatives. She has conducted a book club at the Zayed Central Library and holds two copyrights for her creative works.
Her achievements include receiving a creative and contemporary arts scholarship from her British curriculum school, an Honourable Mention for a short story from Oxford University Press in collaboration with the Emirates Literature Foundation, and a Readers’ Choice Award for a short story published in a teen fiction anthology.
