Tripura Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury announced that several transport infrastructure projects, including motor stands, district transport offices and a modern bus port, are targeted for completion by December, aiming to improve connectivity, passenger convenience and transport facilities across the state.

A range of development projects under the State Transport Department is set to be completed by December this year. Motor stands are being built at Melaghar, Gandatwisa, Jirania, Jolaibari, Manughat, and Shantirbazar. Additionally, district transport offices are being established at Kailashahar, Teliamura, and Bishramganj.

A state-of-the-art bus port is coming up at Rajarbagh in Udaipur. This information was shared today by Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury at a review meeting of the Transport Department held in the Secretariat’s conference hall, where the department’s activities were reviewed.

At the meeting, the Transport Minister stated that initiatives have been taken to build new fully-equipped motor stands at Sidhai Mohanpur, Birchandra Mmanu, Jatanbari, and Bishalgarh. He said the state government’s aim is to bring about rapid infrastructural development in the transport sector to provide convenience to the general public and those associated with it. The state government is working toward the goal of ensuring easy connectivity from one end of the state to the other.

At the meeting, Transport Commissioner Subrata Chowdhury briefed the Transport Minister on the progress of various development activities under the department. Among others present at the meeting were Chief Engineer of the PWD Anup Kumar Das, Chief Engineer of the Water Resources Department Sudhan Debbarma, Chief Engineer of the Rural Development Department Kshudiram Tripura, and other senior officials of the Transport Department.
