Electronic Voting Machines for Tripura ADC polls will be transported from Madhya Pradesh. Election officials inspect warehouse security in Sepahijala, ensuring safe storage, inter-state coordination, and strict compliance with election guidelines ahead of the April TTAADC elections.

In a major preparatory step ahead of the forthcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections, Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) will be transported from Madhya Pradesh to Tripura, officials confirmed on Friday. The move is part of a coordinated inter-state effort to ensure the smooth, transparent, and secure conduct of the polls scheduled later this year.

As part of the advance arrangements, senior officials from the State Election Commission of Madhya Pradesh visited Tripura’s Sepahijala district to assess proposed warehouse facilities designated for storing the EVMs. The inspection focused on evaluating infrastructure readiness, security arrangements, and compliance with election guidelines to ensure the machines remain safe and tamper-proof until polling day.

Deputy Secretary Sanju Kumari and Under Secretary Priyanshi Bhanwar led the inspection team, visiting locations identified as district-level warehouses. According to a statement shared by the Sepahijala District Administration on social media, the officials conducted a comprehensive review of access control mechanisms, surveillance provisions, and physical security measures at the proposed storage sites.

During the visit, the officials closely examined protocols related to restricted entry, monitoring systems, and safeguarding procedures required for the custody of EVMs. Emphasis was placed on ensuring that the warehouses meet the standards prescribed by the Election Commission, including round-the-clock security and controlled access to prevent any possibility of unauthorized handling.

In addition to reviewing storage facilities, detailed discussions were held with district authorities regarding the logistics of transporting EVMs from Madhya Pradesh to Tripura. Officials deliberated on inter-state coordination, transportation safety, and scheduling to guarantee the timely arrival of voting machines well ahead of the election process. The goal, officials said, is to eliminate logistical bottlenecks and ensure uninterrupted electoral operations.

The inspection and review were conducted in the presence of Sepahijala District Magistrate and Collector Dr. Siddhartha Shiv Jaiswal, along with the Additional District Magistrate and other senior administrative officials. District authorities briefed the visiting team on local preparedness and assured full cooperation in implementing all mandated election protocols.

Officials stated that the visit formed an integral part of the broader preparatory framework for the TTAADC elections. “The inspection was carried out to ensure strict compliance with election guidelines and to facilitate seamless coordination between states. Further logistical and operational steps will be finalized in consultation with the concerned authorities,” an official said.

It is noteworthy that the elections to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council are scheduled to be held in April this year. With the announcement nearing, political activities across tribal regions of the state have already gained momentum. The safe deployment and storage of EVMs are considered critical to maintaining electoral integrity and public confidence in the democratic process.
