Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha says family-based politics has no future, attacks Communists over violence, and asserts BJP’s unstoppable growth ahead of TTAADC elections while highlighting youth power, tribal development, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the Left parties and family-centric political forces, asserting that such models have lost relevance in modern democratic India and that no force can stop the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from continuing its welfare-driven governance in the state.

Addressing a BJP public meeting at South Taibandal in Sepahijala district, Saha accused the Communists of presiding over decades of violence, political murders, and terror during their long rule in Tripura. He said the BJP represents a decisive break from that past and is committed to taking development and public service to every household.

“The Bharatiya Janata Party will reach every home and work for the welfare of the people. No one has the power to stop the BJP from serving the people,” the Chief Minister declared, drawing loud applause from party supporters.

Referring to the upcoming elections to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), expected in the coming months, Saha said the enthusiasm visible among the people reflected a clear shift in the political mood of the state. According to him, voters are increasingly rejecting politics based on fear, dynasty, or individual dominance.

Linking his remarks to the celebration of Republic Day on January 26, Saha underlined the constitutional values of democracy and equality. Without naming any individual or party, he stressed that India is a republic and not a monarchy, and leadership should be earned through public service rather than inherited privilege.

“Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not come from a royal family; he was a tea seller. January 26 symbolizes the strength of our Constitution and democracy. India belongs to its people, not to dynasties,” he said.

The Chief Minister categorically stated that family-based or individual-oriented politics have no future in India. He cited examples from different states where dynastic parties have faced setbacks due to poor governance and lack of accountability.

“People are now aware and informed. In a democracy, the people have the final authority. Those who fail to perform will be removed from power,” Saha said, adding that governance must be measured by delivery and results, not slogans or lineage.

Highlighting the observance of National Voters’ Day on Sunday, Saha welcomed first-time voters and urged them to exercise their democratic rights responsibly. He emphasized that youth participation is crucial for shaping the political and developmental future of Tripura and the country.

“Not just Tripura, the future of the entire nation lies in the hands of the youth. They must decide who will govern the state and the country based on performance and vision,” he said.

Taking a swipe at certain regional political outfits, the Chief Minister said several local parties were formed using emotional slogans but failed to deliver tangible outcomes. According to him, such parties primarily served personal or narrow interests rather than public welfare.

“The people have now understood the reality behind such politics. Empty promises and identity-based slogans cannot replace real development,” Saha remarked.

He reiterated the BJP-led government’s commitment to the holistic development of tribal communities under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Saha said the Prime Minister has consistently emphasized that India’s progress is incomplete without the development of the Northeast.

“Earlier, the region was known for extremism and instability. Today, it is moving forward under the ‘diamond model’ of development,” he said, adding that improved infrastructure, connectivity, and welfare schemes have transformed the region’s growth trajectory.

Saha also noted that in the past, sections of tribal youth in Tripura were misled into extremism due to lack of opportunities and political exploitation. After the BJP came to power, the government initiated rehabilitation and financial assistance programs to bring them back into the mainstream.

“We are ensuring peace, development, and dignity. If Tripura and the Northeast are to remain peaceful and prosperous, only the BJP under Prime Minister Narendra Modi can guarantee it,” he asserted.

The public meeting was attended by BJP Pradesh General Secretary Bipin Debbarma, MLAs Jitendra Majumdar and Bindu Debnath, former MP Rebati Tripura, BJP state Secretary David Debbarma, and several other senior party leaders.
