In a successful joint operation, the Sonamura and Patharkandi police rescued two kidnapped individuals, identified as Fayaz Ahammed (36) from Sonatala and Alal Uddin (30) from Bahadurpur, on Friday night. The victims were found at Rangamatia following a coordinated search effort by the teams from both police stations.

The breakthrough came after police apprehended two suspects, Ripan Miah and Manik Miah, at Charilam Bazaar on Thursday night. The suspects were caught while allegedly attempting to collect ransom money for the release of the kidnapped men. The arrests were made by a team led by Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rajib Sutradhar and Sub-Inspector Rakesh Debnath. The timely intervention prevented the suspects from executing their plans and provided crucial leads for the rescue operation.

During the interrogation of the arrested suspects, vital information was extracted that enabled the police to swiftly organize a rescue mission. Acting on this intelligence, a joint team of Sonamura and Patharkandi police located the victims and safely transferred them to the Patharkandi police station for further medical examination and debriefing.

Meanwhile, the involvement of Abu Kalam, the husband of BJP leader Nasima from Kalapania, has surfaced in the investigation. The police are currently probing his possible role in the kidnapping case to determine if he had any connections with the accused or was directly involved in the incident.

The successful rescue operation has been widely appreciated, highlighting the efficiency and coordination between different police units in handling kidnapping cases. The investigation is ongoing, and more arrests and revelations are expected as the police continue to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy.
