In light of BJP national president J.P. Nadda's visit to Agartala, extensive security arrangements have been implemented to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the event. According to sources, a three-layer security cordon has been set up at the Vivekananda Maidan, the venue for Nadda's public rally, with a significant deployment of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and Tripura State Rifles (TSR) personnel.
The security measures have been meticulously planned, with an Advanced Security Liaison team of J.P. Nadda already conducting an on-ground security review in close coordination with the state police. This review involved a thorough inspection of the venue and surrounding areas to address any potential security risks and to finalize protective measures.
To further bolster security, all arterial routes leading to the rally venue have been secured with naka points (checkpoints) manned by security personnel to regulate and monitor the flow of traffic and individuals. Additionally, high-rise buildings and structures in the vicinity of Vivekananda Maidan have been strategically covered with the deployment of both uniformed security forces and plain-clothed personnel to keep a vigilant watch for any suspicious activity.
The state's top brass, including Director General of Police (DGP) Amitabh Ranjan, DGP (Intelligence) Anurag, DIGP (Intelligence) Krishnendu Chakravertty, and DIGP (Range) Manchak Ipper, along with other senior and mid-level police officials, visited the venue on Saturday evening. Their visit was aimed at conducting a final assessment of the security arrangements and ensuring that every detail was accounted for to prevent any security lapses during the high-profile event.

To facilitate the smooth passage of VIPs and participants, the Superintendent of Police (Traffic) has been personally overseeing traffic management. Traffic arrangements have been fine-tuned to minimize congestion and ensure quick and secure transit for attendees, especially the dignitaries and other key figures expected at the rally.
Security precautions are not limited to Agartala alone. Adequate security arrangements have also been enforced at Matabari and the districts of West Tripura, Sepahijala, and Gomati, which have been placed on high alert. Separate security plans have been drawn up for each of these districts to address any specific threats or challenges that may arise.
In addition to the police bandobast (arrangements), both state and central intelligence agencies are maintaining round-the-clock surveillance on J.P. Nadda's visit. Intelligence teams have been tasked with monitoring communications and movements to intercept and neutralize any potential threats promptly. This multi-tiered security approach underscores the importance of the event and the party's commitment to ensuring the safety of its leaders and supporters.
