
State’s Development Remains Top Priority, Says CM Manik Saha

The overall development of Tripura continues to be the highest priority of the current government, which remains dedicated to enhancing infrastructure, welfare schemes, and economic growth. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha reiterated this commitment while addressing an event at Rabindra Centenary Bhavan, marking the second anniversary of the state government. He emphasized that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government is tirelessly working towards the state’s progress, ensuring the welfare of all communities, including ethnic groups, women, children, and senior citizens.
Dignitaries Attend Anniversary Event
The anniversary celebration was attended by several high-ranking officials and ministers, including Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Industry and Commerce Minister Santwana Chakma, Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy, Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma, Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma, Cooperative Minister Shuklacharan Noatia, MP Rajib Bhattacharjee, MP Kritidevi Debbarma, and Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan.
During the event, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and other dignitaries unveiled a booklet and a folder highlighting the achievements of the state government over the past two years. He congratulated public representatives, administrative officials, and citizens for their contribution to the successful governance of the state.
Economic Growth and Improved Living Standards
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Saha presented an overview of the government’s achievements, stating that the state’s economic condition has significantly improved. In the fiscal year 2023-24, Tripura’s per capita annual income increased to ₹1,77,723, while the state’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) reached ₹8,282 billion. He also noted that people’s purchasing power has risen, further strengthening economic stability. Tripura is emerging as a leading state in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on long-term prosperity and social development.
Major Development Projects and Welfare Schemes
Over the past seven years, the government has launched approximately 20-22 new projects and formulated or revised 30 public welfare policies to uplift various sectors. The Chief Minister highlighted the successful implementation of several central flagship schemes, including:

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY): Ensuring affordable housing for underprivileged families.

PM Kisan Samman Nidhi: Providing financial assistance to farmers.

PM Ujjwala Yojana: Offering subsidized LPG connections to improve household energy access.

Ayushman Bharat: Enhancing healthcare services and providing free medical treatment.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the state government is integrating technology to bring transparency, efficiency, and accountability into governance, ensuring effective policy execution.
Employment and Industrial Growth
Employment generation has been a key focus of the government. Between 2018-19 and January 2025, a total of 16,851 individuals were recruited across various departments, while 5,771 jobs were provided through outsourcing and contractual appointments. Additionally, employment opportunities are being created through the Tripura Industrial Development Corporation and other initiatives.
Dr. Saha highlighted that Tripura’s unemployment rate is currently lower than the national average, reflecting the success of the government’s efforts to boost industrial investment and job opportunities.

The Chief Minister reaffirmed that the government is committed to taking Tripura to new heights of development by focusing on innovation, industrial growth, and public welfare. With a clear vision and well-structured policies, the administration aims to transform Tripura into a model state in the coming years.
