Nitin Nabin assumes charge as BJP national president at party headquarters, flanked by PM Modi and senior Union ministers. His elevation marks a generational shift, strong organisational backing, and renewed nationalist commitment.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday witnessed a defining moment in its organisational journey as Nitin Nabin formally assumed charge as the new national president of the party at its headquarters in New Delhi. The occasion was marked by the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and several senior leaders, reflecting the political significance of the leadership transition.

Soon after his formal elevation, Nitin Nabin arrived at the BJP headquarters accompanied by Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Shah. Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, and outgoing BJP president Jagat Prasad Nadda were also present, symbolising continuity, unity, and institutional stability within the party’s top leadership.

Prime Minister Modi also took time to meet Nabin’s family members at the party office, personally congratulating them and engaging in light-hearted conversations. The gesture underscored the personal warmth and organisational culture often highlighted within the BJP’s leadership framework.

At 45 years of age, Nitin Nabin’s elevation represents a significant generational shift within the BJP. His appointment signals the party’s emphasis on nurturing younger leadership while maintaining ideological continuity rooted in nationalism and organisational discipline. Party insiders view his leadership as the beginning of a “novel era” that blends youthful energy with seasoned experience.

Addressing party leaders and workers at the headquarters, Prime Minister Modi made a remark that drew loud applause and cheers. He described Nitin Nabin as his “boss” in party matters, emphasising the BJP’s organisational ethos.
“When it comes to party affairs, I am a worker, and Nitin Nabin is my boss,” Modi said, reinforcing the idea of collective leadership and discipline within the party structure.

The Prime Minister praised Nabin’s organisational journey, noting that he brings together “youthful energy and long experience”, a combination that would be highly beneficial for strengthening the party at both grassroots and national levels. Modi’s remarks were seen as a strong endorsement of the new president’s leadership capabilities.

After assuming charge, Nitin Nabin delivered his first address as BJP national president, calling the day a “moment of resolve” rather than personal achievement. He stated that the responsibility he had taken on went beyond a formal position and encompassed the ideology, traditions, and nationalist commitment of the party.

“We are associated with a political organisation where politics is not about power but spiritual practice; not indulgence but sacrifice; not luxury but austerity,” Nabin said. He further stressed that political authority must be exercised as responsibility, not privilege.

Recalling the party’s ideological roots, Nabin reiterated his commitment to uphold the BJP’s nationalist vision and organisational discipline. He emphasized that his presidency would focus on dedication, accountability, and service to the nation.

In the run-up to his election, Nitin Nabin received overwhelming support from across the country. According to party sources, the BJP’s Returning Officer received 37 nomination sets in his favour, including one from the BJP Parliamentary Party, reflecting near-unanimous backing within the organisation.

Following his formal election, Nitin Nabin has been accorded Z-category security cover. Officials confirmed that the VIP security wing of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) will provide high-level protection. Armed CRPF commandos will accompany him during nationwide travel, public engagements, and at his residence, ensuring round-the-clock security as he takes on one of the most influential political roles in the country.
