To ensure health safety of expecting mothers and the fetal child, Adarsh Matritva Abhiyan is about to commence statewide on Friday. This Abhiyan will continue till July 14. In the first phase of Adarsh Matritva Abhiyan, treatment facilities will be provided to 29 thousand 937 pregnant ladies in the state. This was informed by Tripura Mission Director, National Health Mission Dr. Sidharth Shiv Jaiswal in a press meet .
In the press meet, he said, the ASHA workers will go door to door for the first five days of the Abhiyan and will create a list of pregnant ladies. Besides, survey will be done as to whether reproducing families follow contraceptive ways in their family planning. All the names of the pregnant ladies in the UPHCs in the state will be registered in these five days. Apart from that, during the Abhiyan, pre-primary examination will be done on the pregnant ladies and will be given TB vaccination. A different list will be created for adolescent would to be parents in the UPHC during the Abhiyan. They would be advised on new contraceptive ways for family planning.
Tripura Mission Director, National Health Mission Dr. Sidharth Shiv Jaiswal informed that a Community Health Officer, ANM will be there for health check-up of every pregnant lady during the Abhiyan. ASHA workers and Anganwadi workers will keep a check on the pregnant ladies. In any kind of situation, the local representatives will also stand by the pregnant ladies and will encourage them for institutional delivery. In this Abhiyan, an experienced doctor will be there for the check up of each pregnant lady. Intensive care will be taken for pregnant ladies with high risk. Besides that, pre delivery examination and ultra-sonography (when necessary) will be done, iron folic acid and calcium tablets will be given to the pregnant ladies.
Every pregnant lady will be brought under different government schemes such as Janani Suraksha Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Matri Vandana Yojana, Mukhyamantri Matru Pushti Upahar. State Program Officer of Reproductive Child Health Dr. Sanjay Rudrapal and State Immunization Officer Dr. Mousumi Sarkar were present in the press meet.
