Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said an inquiry would be done about the alleged discrimination in pay and other financial emoluments of the TSR jawans presently deployed in Delhi and Chhatishgarh.
Opposition CPM MLA Ratan Kumar Bhowmik raised a question regarding the allegations of pay disparity of the TSR troopers in the assembly on Monday. Bhowmik said, according to some complaints TSR jawans who were presently deployed in Chattisgarh were not getting equal financial emoluments as enjoyed by their colleagues deployed in Delhi. There were also allegations about the living conditions of the TSR men in Delhi and Chhatishgarh.
Replying to this Dr Saha said he would look into the matter and an inquiry on this allegations would be made.
It may mentioned here that about 880 TSR troopers were presently deployed in Delhi since November 2019 while about 500 TSR were guarding the South Eastern Coalfields Limited in Chattisgarh. They were also taken there are the instance of the Home Ministry since the elite TSR proved themselves to be a formidable force in countering militancy in Tripura.
At present there are 12 TSR battalions. Of late, in a major policy decision the state government also decided to include women in the force as it would raise two more battalions. Already 1500 personnel were appointed and they were undergoing trainings at different levels.
The TSR had already earned nationwide acclaim for its combat acumen and fierce fighting powers when it comes to dealing with militancy. It was due to its fame the TSR jawans were asked to provide security to election duties and they had by this time did so in 18 states. Besides in Tripura the TSR was also tasked to provide security to the ONGC sites as well as Palatana power project and TNGCL projects.
