Tripura launches RAMP Incentive Schemes 2025 to boost MSMEs through transport cost reimbursement, loan support, digital reforms, and market expansion. The initiative aims to strengthen entrepreneurship, enhance competitiveness, and drive sustainable industrial growth across the state.
Tripura has taken a major step toward strengthening its micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) sector with the launch of two new incentive schemes under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) framework. The initiatives aim to reduce operational challenges for entrepreneurs while enhancing market access, competitiveness, and long-term sustainability.
The new schemes—Tripura RAMP Transport Incentive Scheme 2025 and Tripura RAMP Partial Reimbursement of Loan Incentive Scheme 2025—were officially unveiled by State Industry and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma at a formal ceremony held at Pragna Bhavan in Agartala on Friday. The launch marks an important milestone in the state’s efforts to boost industrial development and entrepreneurship.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Chakma said that MSMEs form the backbone of Tripura’s industrial ecosystem but often face high logistical and financial burdens. One of the most pressing challenges, she noted, is the high cost of transporting goods beyond the state due to Tripura’s geographical location. The newly introduced transport incentive scheme is designed to directly address this issue and encourage entrepreneurs to explore wider markets.
Under the transport-specific incentives, the state government will reimburse 50 percent of expenses incurred in transporting secondary raw materials and packaging materials from the seller’s nearest railway station to the buyer’s location.
In addition, MSMEs participating in state-level and national trade fairs will be eligible for 50 percent reimbursement of travel and goods transportation costs, subject to a maximum limit of Rs 1 lakh per participation. Each enterprise can avail the benefit for up to two participations per year, while international exhibitions will require prior government approval.

The second initiative, the Partial Reimbursement of Loan Incentive Scheme, is aimed at easing financial pressure on MSMEs by providing partial reimbursement on loan-related expenses. This measure is expected to encourage formal credit uptake, improve liquidity, and promote business expansion, especially among small and first-generation entrepreneurs.
Minister Chakma also outlined the state government’s broader industrial roadmap for 2025. Key focus areas include infrastructure development under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI), skill enhancement and capacity-building programs, and targeted initiatives such as the Yashaswini Abhiyan to empower women entrepreneurs. Additional emphasis will be placed on marketing support, digital transformation, and technology adoption to help MSMEs remain competitive in evolving markets.
She emphasized that the RAMP project, which will continue for three years, aims to increase the contribution of MSMEs to the state’s gross domestic product while creating a new generation of model entrepreneurs. The initiative is part of a centrally sponsored reform program implemented at the state level.

Tripura’s RAMP framework integrates modern reform components, including digital adoption through MSME TEAM, circular economy practices under MSE SPICE, green technology promotion via MSE GIFT, and efficient dispute resolution through MSE Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) mechanisms. Together with the newly launched incentive schemes, these reforms are expected to provide a comprehensive and future-ready support system for MSMEs across the state.
The event was attended by Tripura Industrial Development Corporation Chairman Nabadal Banik, along with senior officials from the Industries and Commerce Department, highlighting strong institutional backing for the initiative.
