Some political agents are hell bent to create communal disturbance in Tripura, said Sushanta Chowdhury, ICA minister on Monday adding that the state administration would strictly deal with such elements.
“The idea is to paint the state in a poor light across the nation. In fact, the conspiracy is soo deep rooted and wide spread that even in far off places like of Maharashtra, the minority community people were instigated to protest against the falsely reported violence in Tripura that never happened”, he said adding that Tripura had a rich history of culture, peace and communal harmony. “We can’t let it be destroyed. But, a group is trying to create unrest in the state. The state government will handle such attempts in strong hand,” Chowdhury said.
On the two women journalists Samriddhi Sakuniya (21) of Odisha and Swarna Jha (24) from New Delhi , Chowdhury said these two persons claimed to be journalists but they actually came as agent of a political party and tried to instigate communal violence in the state. Their efforts aimed to discredit the Tripura government before the country and misguide people. They went to Unakoti district and provoked the minority people.
“Samriddhi Sakunia in a tweet shared fake photos and footage and said a mosque was vandalized and set on fire. As a result, the minority people across the country took a negative view on the state government,” he said, adding that the protest in Maharashtra was fallout of such misinformation.
Chowdhury also alleged that the Trinamool Congress had filed a false affidavit in the Supreme Court.
“As per the affidavit, the TMC apprised the Supreme Court that they had moved the High Court of Tripura but the High Court didn’t conduct hearing. But, the High Court had formed a special bench and conducted hearing on TMC’s petition at the night of October 30 last and granted conditional permission for holding the October 31 rally in front of the Supreme Court,” he told the media.
