Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Verma said that the state government was working in gear to improve the electricity services across the state by improving the infrastructures.
He said, among the major initiatives, a proposal of Rs. 135 crore was sent to the World Bank for development of power infrastructure.
The Deputy Chief Minister was addressing the inaugural ceremony of new Sepahijala district administration complex and SP office on Monday.
He said that more 31 power sub-stations would be introduced in the state by December next and works for 15 sub-stations already completed.
Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment- Pratima Bhowmik was also present in the inaugural function. She said the new building would largely benefit the people of the Sepahijala district in delivery of various administrative works.
She also administered pledge to all present in the programme for preventing child marriages in the district.
MLA Birendra Kishore Debbarma, MLA Subhas Chandra Das, Secretary of Revenue department Apurba Roy, Inspector General of Police Arindam Nath, District Magistrate, Sepahijala- Viswashree B and SP Sepahijala Krishnendu Chakravertty among others were present.
Meanwhile, in a wonderful initiative, the Sepahijala district administration has set up a crèche to facilitate the staff working there. Of 116 staff in Sepahijala DM office, 20 have children below the age of 6 years. For the benefit of them and to the soon to-be new fathers and mothers, the crèche has been opened in DM office. The Union Minister of State accompanied by the Deputy Chief Minister and DM Sepahijala inspected the new facility.
