Protests and condemnation continue to pour in over the recent attacks on Hindus, Durga Puja Pandals and temples in parts of Bangladesh. Several socio-political organizations and individuals in Tripura are continuing to denounce the mindless communal violence unleashed by unidentified miscreants in Bangladesh against the Hindus.
A group of people under the banner of ‘Sanatan Hindu Dharma’ held a demonstration in front of the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala on Monday. Holding placards, the demonstrators vehemently condemned the Bangla violence against Hindus and demanded exemplary punishment of the perpetrators as well as security of minority people living in Bangladesh.
In a social media post, BJP MLA Krishnadhan Das strongly denounced the ‘inhuman’ attack on Hindu people in Bangladesh.
“I strongly condemn the inhuman attack on the followers of Sanatan Dharma at Dhaka, Comilla and Noakhali in Bangladesh during the Durga Puja that symbolizes the destruction of demons and evil forces”, Das said.
Das also urged people irrespective of religion to stay alert against the ‘anti-humanity’ forces.
In a separate video message, Imam of Agartala Town Mosque and Muhtamim of Bishalgarh Jamia Madania Darul Uloom Madrasa, Muhtamim Abdur Rahman Kasemi also condemned the violence against the Hindu minority community in Bangladesh.
He said, “We sincerely and strongly denounce the violence in Bangladesh. A true Muslim cannot attack followers of other religions, as well as a true Muslim, cannot show disrespect to the Quran by keeping it in a Puja Pandal. Similarly, a true follower of Hinduism cannot taint his Puja with a Quran on the feet of the idols”. He demanded the Bangladesh Government take stern actions against the perpetrators.
Demanding stern action against the miscreants, leaders of Amra Bangali also denounced the ‘barbaric’ attack on Hindu people and temples etc in Chittagong, Comilla and Noakhali districts of Bangladesh. The leaders also demanded the Government of India to take initiative for solving the problem and to organize meetings with Bangladesh Government immediately to ensure the safety and security of the Hindu people.
Inspector of Schools’ Forum today organized a silent protest rally against the barbaric attack on the minority Hindus in Bangladesh and demanded strict action against the culprits and also urged Bangladesh Government to ensure the safety of the minority people. President of the Forum Uttam Kumar Datta, general secretary Abhijit Samajpati and other members were present.
Viswa Hindu Parishad also held a rally in Agartala and voiced against the attacks as well as punitive actions against the attackers.
