The meeting underscored the growing strategic importance of India-UAE relations and highlighted the commitment of both nations to deepen cooperation across multiple sectors, including trade, investment, technology, energy, and defence.
Following the meeting, Prime Minister Modi shared details of the discussions on social media platform X, emphasizing the close relationship between the two leaders and the strong ties between the two countries.
“Had a very good meeting with my brother, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. We discussed India-UAE ties across sectors and ways to further energise our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Once again expressed gratitude to him and the UAE government for the care and concern for the Indian community living in the UAE,” PM Modi wrote.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated that both leaders reviewed measures aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on key regional and international issues. The discussions also focused on promoting peace, security, and stability in the West Asia region amid evolving geopolitical developments.
According to the MEA, this marked the third meeting between Prime Minister Modi and President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in 2026, reflecting the robust and dynamic nature of the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The leaders reviewed progress made in bilateral engagements since President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s visit to India in January and Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the UAE in May this year. These high-level exchanges have significantly contributed to advancing cooperation in several strategic sectors.
India and the UAE have witnessed remarkable growth in economic and commercial ties in recent years. The leaders acknowledged the positive developments in trade and investment, while also discussing opportunities to expand collaboration in emerging technologies, renewable energy, defence manufacturing, and innovation-driven sectors.
Regional security issues also featured prominently in the talks. He reiterated India’s support for respecting sovereignty and territorial integrity as fundamental principles for resolving regional conflicts.
“The Prime Minister underscored the importance of dialogue, diplomacy, and respect for international law, sovereignty, and territorial integrity in advancing enduring peace, security, and stability in the West Asia region,” the MEA noted.
Both sides also emphasized the importance of ensuring continued free, safe, and unimpeded navigation, trade, and commerce through the strategically significant Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime route for global energy supplies and international trade.
The two leaders further exchanged views on broader regional and global developments of mutual interest, reflecting their shared commitment to addressing international challenges through cooperation and constructive engagement.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi extended an invitation to President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to attend the BRICS Summit, which India is scheduled to host later this year.
