The engineers’ body of the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) met in deputation with the Managing Director of the TSECL on Friday and demanded for an immediate release of the 40 per cent salaries held up for the engineers.
According to the president of the engineers’ body – Krishnapada Sarkar, the concerned authorities of the TSECL had held up 40 per cent of the salaries for the manager and senior managers of the corporation. He said due to some irregularities in the software the salaries were held up.
The association demanded for immediate rectification of the software by physical movement of the IT wing. Their demands also include – requirement of proper survey through outsourcing to ascertain the actual consumer, providence of spot billing device for every 1000 consumer per device for rural areas, supply of adequate stationeries against requisition of sub-division level, reduction of hook lines and where consumers have already been converted to prepaid mode, those areas should have use LT AB Cable and others.
They also demanded for posting of experienced senior officer in the corporate office for proper vigilance and monitoring of field/ground level reality.
Food for patients’ relatives at GB at Rs 5
Eminent social activist Biplab Kar has come up with another initiative that would immensely benefit the relatives of the patients at GB Hospital.
With his initiative, patients’ relatives at GB Hospital will get food every day at Rs 5 only. Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhoumik formally inaugurated the initiative at the Hospital premises on Friday.
Biplab Kar, a the time of Corona, arranged lunch for the poor people at Battala area in Agartala for only Re 1.
This time, his noble initiative reached the premises of GB Hospital.
Brick theft: Miscreants attack construction staff for protesting
A group of miscreants attacked the Engineers and staff of a Private Construction Company, ASC Infratect Pvt Ltd, engaged in alternative NH 208A after the Company staff refrained and dissuaded the miscreants from brick thefts in Kailasahar, Unakoti district.
This incident took place in Chini Bagan area on Thursday night. In the attack, two staffs of the Company were injured and the car in which the staffs were traveling was badly damaged. Later, a complaint was lodged with the Police at Kailashahar PS.
The ASC Infratech Pvt Ltd is entrusted with constructing a portion of the 208A NH from Balidhum in North Tripura to Chirakuti of Kailashahar. The alternative 208A NH will connect Kukital of Assam with Agartala via Kailshahar-Kamalpur and Khowai.
On Thursday night, a team 12 Engineers and staff were returning from Anandabazar after inspecting the works. As they reached Mahadev Bari area in Balidhum, they noticed miscreants were picking up bricks from the road and were dumping those in a vehicle. The bricks were laid on the road so that traffic movement does not get affected due to construction works during rain.
Noticing the act of miscreants, the ASC staffs raised objection and refrained the miscreants from taking out the bricks. Moreover, the staff dissuaded the miscreants to bring down the stolen bricks from the vehicle. The miscreants obliged but this irked the miscreants. They chased the ASC vehicle and overtook at Chini Bagan area. Miscreants attacked and vandalized the vehicle of the ASC staff. In the melee, two staff sustained injuries.
It is alleged, miscreants are regularly taking away bricks from the road affecting both quality and pace of the work.
