The youth and student wings of the Left Front – DYFI, SFI, TSU, and TYF – took to the streets on Friday in a protest rally against the cancellation of previously issued job notifications for recruitment in Group-C and Group-D posts in the Tripura state legislative assembly.
DYFI state secretary Nabarun Deb, who led the rally, accused the BJP-led coalition government in Tripura of adopting policies detrimental to the unemployed youth in the state. Deb alleged that the government had repeatedly issued recruitment notifications only to cancel them later, as part of a strategy to outsource jobs.
“As part of their show-off drama, the government has been issuing notifications for recruitment, but later these notifications are being cancelled to pave the way for others as part of their outsourcing policy,” Deb told reporters
In addition to cancelling the recruitment process for the legislative assembly, Deb highlighted that the government issued another notification on Friday evening, cancelling the recruitment of six Assistant Professors in TIT, positions that were to be filled through TPSC.
“This government is simply doing injustice to the unemployed youths of this state, as they are being deprived of employment opportunities, while youths from other states are being inducted into service under the rule of this BJP government. We condemn such acts and urge the educated unemployed youth of the state to unite and dethrone this government from power,” Deb stated.
The rally saw significant participation from various youth and student groups, all united in their condemnation of the government’s actions. They marched through the city, holding banners and chanting slogans demanding justice and employment opportunities for the local youth.
The protest underscored the growing frustration among Tripura’s youth regarding the lack of stable job opportunities and the perceived preferential treatment towards outsiders.
