The District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) of Gomati district held a crucial review meeting on Thursday at the Conference Hall of the Circuit House in Udaipur, focusing on the implementation of development schemes, monitoring of ongoing projects and faster delivery of government welfare programmes.

The meeting began at 11:00 AM under the chairmanship of Smt. Kriti Singh Debbarma, Member of Parliament from Tripura East (ST) and Co-Chairperson of the Gomati District DISHA Committee. The meeting brought together Tripura Legislative Assembly Speaker Rampada Jamatia, Gomati District Magistrate Rinku Lather, senior officials from various government departments and elected representatives.

During the meeting, officials presented detailed reports on the progress of ongoing development projects and the implementation of various government schemes across Gomati district. The committee reviewed centrally sponsored schemes covering areas including rural development, infrastructure, livelihood generation and public welfare.

A major focus of the discussion was the need to accelerate the implementation of schemes and ensure that their intended benefits reach eligible beneficiaries without unnecessary delays. The committee stressed that bureaucratic hurdles should not prevent people from accessing government assistance and development opportunities.

Addressing the meeting, Kriti Singh Debbarma highlighted the importance of effective monitoring under the DISHA framework. She said the primary objective of the committee is to ensure proper implementation and monitoring of central government schemes so that no eligible beneficiary is left out.

She directed officials to speed up the completion of ongoing projects while maintaining the required quality standards. The MP also emphasized the importance of a proactive administrative approach to public grievances, urging officials to identify problems at the local level and take timely steps to resolve them.

The meeting also underlined the importance of stronger coordination between different government departments and elected public representatives. Participants emphasized that improved coordination is essential for ensuring that development programmes are implemented efficiently and produce tangible benefits for people at the grassroots level.

Assembly Speaker Rampada Jamatia also stressed the importance of accountability in the implementation of development initiatives. He noted that development programmes should remain people-centric and be completed within stipulated timelines so that citizens can benefit from them at the earliest possible opportunity.

District Magistrate Rinku Lather and other senior officials apprised the committee of the status of various schemes and projects under their respective departments. The discussions provided an opportunity to assess progress, identify implementation-related challenges and consider measures to overcome delays.

The review meeting assumes significance for Gomati district as the administration seeks to strengthen the delivery of government programmes and improve the pace of development work. The directions issued during the meeting are expected to encourage departments to intensify monitoring and complete pending projects more efficiently.
