Israel attacks nuclear sites, Iranian missiles damage hospital as conflict escalates –

Must Read

The confrontation between Israel and Iran has entered its seventh day, as Iranian missiles caused serious damage at several sites in central and southern Israel, while Israeli forces are reported to have attacked Iran’s Arak heavy water nuclear reactor. A hospital in southern Israel and two towns near Tel Aviv were struck after a barrage of Iranian missiles. Soroka Hospital’s Director General, Shlomi Kodesh, said there is widespread damage to buildings at the hospital.
Tensions continue to mount as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the nation just hours after Iranian missiles struck multiple sites,  where he vowed to remove Iran nuclear, ballistic missile threat. The strike on the hospital has triggered international condemnation, with Israeli authorities calling it a clear violation of international humanitarian law. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed the intended target was military infrastructure near the hospital, not the medical facility itself.
. The Israel claimed that at least one of the dozens of ballistic missiles Iran launched today contained a banned cluster bomb warhead. According to media reports, 240 people were injured by the Iranian missiles this morning, four of them seriously. On the other hand, the Israeli military has announced it struck the heavy water nuclear reactor at Arak in Iran, during overnight air raids. The operation also targeted a site near Natanz. Amid Israeli airstrikes, Iran also faces a nationwide internet blackout and has remained largely offline for more than 24 hours. The disruption follows escalating hostilities, including Israeli airstrikes on military targets in Tehran.
Meanwhile  Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has declared the elimination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as one of Israel’s core war objectives, an unprecedented escalation in a conflict long dominated by proxy warfare and limited direct engagement.
Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, is set to meet his UK, French, and German counterparts, along with the EU’s foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, in Geneva tomorrow. Meanwhile, the head of Russia’s state-owned nuclear energy company warned that an Israeli strike on Iran’s only operating nuclear power plant in Bushehr would cause a catastrophe on the scale of Chernobyl.
The United Nations today expressed deep concern over the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel, stating it was appalled by the treatment of civilians as collateral damage. A UN spokesperson urged all parties to exercise maximum restraint and to prioritize the protection of innocent lives amid the escalating violence.
Indonesia and 23 other Muslim-majority countries, including Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Egypt, and Pakistan, issued a joint statement condemning Israel’s attacks on Iran. The declaration, coordinated by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation , called for an immediate ceasefire and warned that the conflict risks spiraling into a full-scale war with grave consequences for global peace and stability. The statement emphasized the need for restraint, diplomacy, and adherence to international law.
