Security forces conduct flag march in Udaipur ahead of TTAADC polls, boosting voter confidence, tightening surveillance in sensitive zones, and ensuring peaceful elections with strict law enforcement, coordinated police action, and heightened security across key areas.

In a move to reinforce public confidence and maintain law and order, security forces carried out a large-scale flag march across sensitive areas of Udaipur subdivision on Monday, ahead of the crucial Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections 2026 scheduled for April 12.

The coordinated march was conducted in the Maharani area, covering key locations such as Maharani Bazar and Love Story Bazar—zones identified as sensitive from an electoral security standpoint. The initiative was led by District Magistrate Rinku Lather and Superintendent of Police Dr Kiran Kumar K, alongside senior officials and personnel from the Tripura State Rifles.

The presence of Additional Superintendent of Police Rishabh, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Debanjali Roy, and officers from Radhakishorepur police station and Maharani outpost further underscored the administration’s commitment to ensuring a secure electoral environment.

Officials stated that the primary objective of the flag march was to instill a sense of safety among residents while simultaneously deterring any potential disturbances. Security personnel patrolled vulnerable pockets on foot, used sirens to signal their presence, and interacted directly with local citizens to address concerns and build trust.

“We are maintaining strict vigil across the district. Any attempt to disturb peace will be dealt with firmly,” District Magistrate Rinku Lather said during the operation. She also appealed to political parties, candidates, and the public to cooperate with authorities in maintaining peace and upholding democratic values during the election period.

The administration has adopted a proactive approach by identifying potential flashpoints and deploying forces accordingly. Police officials confirmed that additional personnel could be mobilized at short notice if the situation demands. The strategy is aimed at preventing any untoward incidents and ensuring that voters can exercise their franchise freely and without fear.

The upcoming TTAADC elections, covering 28 constituencies across the state, are seen as politically significant, with heightened attention on maintaining stability in tribal-dominated regions. Security arrangements have been intensified not only in Udaipur subdivision but also in other sensitive districts to ensure a smooth electoral process.

Authorities reiterated that strict monitoring, continuous patrolling, and close coordination between civil administration and security forces will remain in place until the completion of polling. The flag march serves as a visible assurance of the government’s preparedness to safeguard democratic processes and maintain peace.
