IPFT intensifies election campaign in Tripura’s Bir Chandra Kalshi constituency as Minister Sukla Charan Noatia attends rally, highlighting development agenda, indigenous welfare, and growing grassroots support ahead of crucial polls in South Tripura district.
The Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) has stepped up its election campaign in the politically significant 26-Bir Chandra Kalshi constituency, organizing a large rally and public meeting at Kuwaifang Bazaar in South Tripura district on Monday.
The event, spearheaded by the IPFT Jolaibari Divisional Committee, was held in support of party nominee Jitiram Tripura as the constituency gears up for the upcoming polls. The programme witnessed an impressive turnout, with party workers and supporters participating in a vibrant procession that moved through several localities before culminating in a public gathering at the marketplace.
The rally gained further political significance with the presence of Sukla Charan Noatia, the state’s Minority Welfare Minister, who addressed the crowd and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to development and inclusive governance. He was joined by Manik Tripura, advisory chairman of the IPFT central committee, along with other senior leaders.
Addressing the gathering, Noatia emphasized that the IPFT does not rely on what he described as “misleading politics,” but instead focuses on implementing development-driven policies. He highlighted the party’s efforts to uplift indigenous communities and marginalized groups, stating that inclusive growth remains at the core of IPFT’s political agenda.
“The IPFT has consistently worked for the welfare of indigenous people, ensuring that development reaches every section of society,” Noatia said, urging voters to support the party in the upcoming election. He also stressed the importance of maintaining political stability and continuity in governance to sustain development initiatives in the region.
Party leaders expressed optimism about their electoral prospects, pointing to the large turnout at the rally as evidence of increasing public support. According to them, the enthusiastic participation of supporters, who raised slogans and marched in unity, reflects a growing momentum in favor of the IPFT in the constituency.
The 26-Bir Chandra Kalshi seat is considered crucial in the broader political landscape of Tripura, particularly in areas with a significant indigenous population. Political observers note that the IPFT’s intensified campaign efforts signal its intent to consolidate its base and expand its influence in the region.
As the election approaches, all major parties are ramping up their outreach strategies, with rallies, door-to-door campaigns, and public meetings becoming increasingly frequent. The IPFT’s latest show of strength in Kuwaifang Bazaar underscores the high stakes involved and the competitive nature of the contest.
