BJP rally in Boxanagar boosts TTAADC election campaign as candidate Kanuraj Debbarma gains support, with 76 voters joining from opposition parties, highlighting development agenda and intensifying political battle in Tripura’s tribal regions.

In a political development ahead of the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized a major rally at Dhanirampara village under the Boxanagar Assembly constituency in Sepahijala district on Monday.

The rally was conducted in support of party candidate Kanuraj Debbarma, who is contesting from the Amtali-Golaghati (No. 19) constituency. The event witnessed the presence of several prominent party leaders, including MLA Tofazzal Hossain, district president Uttam Das, and former minister Jharna Saha, along with other local functionaries.

According to party sources, the rally marked a notable political shift in the region, with 76 voters from 23 families reportedly joining the BJP. These individuals are said to have left rival parties, including the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and Tipra Motha, during the programme.

The event began with a vibrant procession through different parts of Dhanirampara village, drawing participation from a large number of party supporters despite the prevailing heat. The rally created a visible show of strength for the BJP in the tribal-dominated constituency, which is considered crucial in the upcoming council polls.

Addressing the gathering, party leaders emphasized the developmental initiatives undertaken by both the central and state governments. They highlighted progress in key sectors such as infrastructure development, education, healthcare services, and rural connectivity. Leaders also urged voters to support the BJP for continued growth and stability in the region.
