Dhalai district administration extends financial, educational, and medical support to families affected by natural disaster and fire incidents. Assistance includes child sponsorship, treatment under government schemes, and disability pension benefits for victims facing severe hardship.

The district administration has extended humanitarian assistance to families affected by recent natural disaster and fire incidents in Tripura’s Dhalai district, offering financial aid, educational support, and medical assistance to victims struggling with severe hardship.

On Thursday, a delegation led by Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) of Dumbur Nagar, Sujit Das, along with officials from the District Child Protection Office (DCPO) and members of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), visited the residence of late Biswajit Namasudra. He lost his life in a tragic accident caused by a natural calamity earlier this year.

During the visit, the officials assured the grieving family that support would be provided under a sponsorship scheme for Biswajit’s five-year-old son, Yog Namasudra. The administration informed the family that all necessary formalities for the scheme would be completed shortly.

Under the initiative, the child will receive monthly financial assistance of Rs 4,000 to continue his education until he reaches the age of 18. The officials stated that the assistance is aimed at securing the child’s future and reducing the family’s financial burden after the tragic loss of the sole earning member.

Biswajit Namasudra, son of Sunil Namasudra from M.R. Das Para under Panchratan village, died on March 19 after being buried under soil while repairing the embankment of a pond near his house. Following the accident, his wife Renu Sarkar and their only child have been facing serious financial difficulties.

In another humanitarian outreach, the delegation also visited the residence of late Kashiram Tripura at Chowkidar Para under Narayanpur village. Kashiram succumbed to injuries sustained in a devastating fire incident that took place on January 8.

According to officials, the fire severely injured Kashiram, his wife, and their two children. Kashiram later died on January 22 while undergoing treatment at GBP Hospital.

The tragedy left the surviving family members in critical condition. Kashiram’s visually impaired wife continues to suffer from severe burn injuries, while their son, Majesh Tripura, remains unable to walk after both his legs were badly burnt in the incident.

The visiting officials assured the family that arrangements would be made for Majesh’s treatment under the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) scheme. They also stated that steps would be initiated to provide disability pension benefits to Kashiram’s wife to help the family cope with their difficult circumstances.
