A bipartisan committee of Tripura MLAs led by Kamalasagar MLA Antara Sarkar Deb inspected ongoing and incomplete development projects across West Tripura and Sepahijala districts. The team reviewed work quality, addressed public grievances, and directed officials to expedite pending projects, ensuring transparency, accountability, and timely infrastructure development.

A committee of legislators constituted to monitor government development works across Tripura conducted an extensive field inspection in several areas under the Kamalasagar Assembly constituency on Saturday. The visit formed part of a broader state-level initiative aimed at accelerating long-pending infrastructure and welfare projects while ensuring greater accountability in their implementation.

The committee, comprising 11 Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) from both the ruling and opposition parties, was formed at the initiative of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha. The panel is chaired by Kamalasagar MLA Antara Sarkar Deb, who led the inspection team during the day-long visit.

Accompanied by eight legislators, Antara Sarkar Deb toured Chatupaura, Sekerkot, and Fultali, where the team examined the progress of several ongoing and incomplete government projects. The legislators assessed the quality of work, reviewed project status reports, and interacted with officials from various departments responsible for implementing the schemes.

During the inspection, committee members discussed delays and operational challenges with departmental authorities. Officials were instructed to maintain quality standards while ensuring that projects are completed within the stipulated timelines. The legislators stressed that developmental initiatives funded through public resources must be executed efficiently and transparently for the benefit of local residents.

A significant aspect of the visit involved direct interaction with members of the public. Residents from different localities shared their concerns regarding infrastructure delays, civic amenities, and other development-related issues. The legislators listened to these grievances and assured citizens that the concerns raised would be reviewed and addressed through the appropriate administrative channels.

Speaking on the occasion, Committee Chairperson and Kamalasagar MLA Antara Sarkar Deb stated that the inspection was undertaken as part of the Estimate Committee’s initiative to review developmental works across West Tripura and Sepahijala districts. She noted that committee members, along with departmental officials, carefully examined both the progress and quality of ongoing projects. She emphasized that maintaining quality standards while ensuring timely completion remains a top priority and that development activities should be implemented swiftly and transparently.

MLA Mina Rani Sarkar also highlighted the importance of monitoring public projects through regular field visits. She stated that discussions were held with departmental officials regarding project progress, quality control, and adherence to completion deadlines. She further stressed the need for ensuring the proper utilization of public funds while maintaining transparency, efficiency, and effectiveness in developmental initiatives.

The visit witnessed the participation of panchayat representatives, administrative officers, and other elected officials, reflecting a collaborative approach to governance and development monitoring. According to officials, the committee’s broader mandate is to assess the implementation of government schemes across Tripura, identify gaps in execution, and recommend corrective measures wherever necessary.

By including legislators from both sides of the political spectrum, the government aims to establish a mechanism that combines oversight, transparency, and consensus-based decision-making. Authorities believe that such initiatives will help prevent projects from remaining stalled for prolonged periods and ensure that development efforts continue to serve the interests of the people effectively.
