The NDA has finalised its seat-sharing formula for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, with Chirag Paswan, Nitish Kumar, and BJP leaders expressing unity and confidence as the coalition prepares for a high-stakes electoral showdown across Bihar.

The battle for Bihar has officially begun, and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is charging ahead with renewed vigor, unity, and confidence. With the seat-sharing formula for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections now finalised, the coalition partners — BJP, JD(U), LJP (Ram Vilas), RLM, and HAM — have sent a powerful message: the NDA is not only ready but reloaded.

The announcement of the seat-sharing arrangement came across as more of a celebration than a mere political update. Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) President Chirag Paswan set the tone on social media platform X, declaring, “Bihar is ready — NDA government again, this time with full force, with Bihar First, Bihari First.” His post, echoing both determination and optimism, instantly became a rallying cry for NDA supporters across the state.

A Balanced Formula, A Confident Front

According to the final arrangement, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal (United) will contest 101 seats each, while the LJP (Ram Vilas) has been allocated 29 seats. The Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) will contest six seats each, striking a formula that reflects tactical balance and mutual respect among allies.

RLM chief Upendra Kushwaha welcomed the decision with enthusiasm, calling the seat-sharing arrangement “unanimous and joyful.” He stressed that the NDA’s harmony was its biggest strength, noting, “The decision was made with complete consensus and positive energy — our alliance is not just aligned, it’s energized.”

BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde echoed similar sentiments. In his post on X, he described the process as disciplined and harmonious, stating that the “organised and dedicated NDA finalised the seat distribution in a cordial atmosphere by mutual consent.” He confirmed that all partners were now gearing up for a “full-throttle campaign” across Bihar.

Nitish at the Helm, NDA United

JD(U)’s National Executive President Sanjay Kumar Jha added a decisive touch to the narrative, asserting that the alliance was “determined and united to make Nitish Kumar the Chief Minister again with a thumping majority.” His statement underscored the JD(U)’s confidence in Nitish Kumar’s leadership and reflected a renewed sense of purpose within the alliance ranks.

The mood across NDA camps is distinctly upbeat. For the first time in months, the alliance appears to have traded hesitation for harmony, and negotiation for mobilisation. With the arithmetic settled and the internal discussions concluded, the NDA is now focused on translating its organizational strength into a winning momentum on the ground.

BJP Finalises Candidates, New Faces Expected

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting on the Bihar Assembly elections has wrapped up, with most candidates finalised. According to party insiders, the BJP has decided to give opportunities to several young leaders this time, while sitting MLAs facing public dissatisfaction may be denied tickets.

Sources suggest that the first list of BJP candidates is likely to be released on Monday, marking the formal start of the campaign trail.

Party sources confirmed that this was the final CEC meeting for Bihar, indicating that all key decisions have been taken. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President J.P. Nadda, and other top leaders including Vinod Tawde, Dharmendra Pradhan, BS Yediyurappa, and Nityanand Rai.

The BJP’s Bihar election in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan also shared the seat-sharing details on social media on Sunday, reaffirming the unity within the NDA. His post, echoing Paswan’s tone, emphasized the alliance’s readiness to “serve Bihar with renewed strength and collective vision.”

Allies Satisfied, Coordination Tightened

Reports suggest that all NDA allies are satisfied with the arrangement. HAM President and former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi is said to be pleased, with his son reportedly assured of a key portfolio in the Bihar government, while Manjhi himself may be considered for a major ministry at the Centre.

Similarly, RLM Chief Upendra Kushwaha, who lost his last assembly election, has been rewarded with a Rajya Sabha nomination, ensuring continued relevance and representation for his party within the alliance.

Political observers view these decisions as strategic moves by the BJP-led coalition to keep smaller allies motivated and loyal. By accommodating every partner, the NDA has projected a picture of cohesion and shared ambition — a contrast to the fractured state of the opposition.

Mahagathbandhan in Disarray

In stark contrast, the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) appears to be struggling with internal discord. Differences between key leaders of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress have reportedly surfaced, with both parties unable to finalise their seat-sharing formula.

This disunity within the opposition camp has given the NDA a head start, both in terms of strategy and public perception. As the ruling coalition readies its campaign machinery, the Grand Alliance continues to search for common ground.

The Road Ahead

With the seat-sharing formula finalised and candidate lists on the verge of release, the NDA is expected to kick off its campaign blitz soon. Multiple rallies, including those addressed by Prime Minister Modi, are scheduled across Bihar in the coming weeks.

Bihar’s politics has long been defined by complex caste equations, regional loyalties, and coalition chemistry. In this context, the NDA’s early show of unity could serve as a decisive advantage.

For Chirag Paswan and other allies, the 2025 Assembly elections offer a chance not just to expand their party’s footprint but also to reaffirm their role in Bihar’s power structure.

As the political heat rises, one thing is clear — the NDA is not just contesting elections this time; it’s marching in with purpose, precision, and a unified slogan: “Bihar First, Bihari First.”
