PAKISTANI DRUG PEDDLER ARRESTED IN TRIPURA, SHE ESCAPED FROM NEPAL PRISON
In a startling cross-border security incident, the Government Railway Police (GRP) at Sabroom Railway Station apprehended a Pakistani drug peddler woman on late Thursday evening around 8:30 PM, raising clear indication about criminal networks with international links operating through Tripura. She had escaped from Nepal prison while the country was in turmoil recently.

The woman, who arrived via the Kanchanjunga Express from Siliguri, initially identified herself as Saheena Parveen, claiming to reside in Purani Basti, Delhi. She failed to produce any official identity documents, immediately arousing suspicion. On a detailed search, GRP officials found multiple Pakistani contact numbers hidden in sheets of paper around her waist, suggesting links to foreign contacts.
During initial interrogation, the woman claimed to be a Pakistani national from Punjab province. She stated that she had entered Bangladesh three years ago and crossed into India via West Bengal with the help of an agent. She allegedly worked as a maid in Delhi and was now attempting to return to Pakistan through Bangladesh, following instructions from her handler.
Her real identity is Louis Nighat Akhtar Bhano, wife of Md. Golaf Faraj, from Village Younganabad, Chak No. 371, District Sheikhupura, Pakistan.
After extended questioning, she admitted that her earlier statements were false. Her real identity was revealed as Louis Nighat Akhtar Bhano, wife of Md. Golaf Faraj, from Village Younganabad, Chak No. 371, District Sheikhupura, Pakistan.
Authorities confirmed that Bhano has a criminal history linked to drug trafficking.
Twelve years ago, she traveled to Nepal with a passport for drug-related activities. In 2014, she was arrested in Kathmandu with one kilogram of brown sugar and sentenced to 15 years in jail. She reportedly escaped last month during unrest in Nepal, making her a high-profile fugitive.

Route to India: Tripura Chosen After Failed Attempt in West Bengal
Investigations revealed that approximately 15–16 days ago, Bhano entered India. Following directions from an agent , she initially tried to cross into Bangladesh through West Bengal but failed. Subsequently, she traveled to Tripura, reaching Sabroom via the Kanchanjunga Express, reportedly intending to use the India-Bangladesh border as a route back to Pakistan.
Authorities are examining her Pakistani contacts and any possible connections to larger criminal syndicates operating in the region.
GRP Sabroom is coordinating with state and central intelligence agencies to probe Bhano’s cross-border links and criminal network. Authorities are examining her Pakistani contacts and any possible connections to larger criminal syndicates operating in the region.
