After a prolonged and anxious wait, the Joint Recruitment Board, Tripura (JRBT) has on Wednesday unveiled the eagerly awaited final merit list for the recruitment of Group-C posts. This announcement has ushered in a wave of happiness among successful job aspirants, coinciding with the festivities of Durga Puja.
For several months leading up to this momentous release, JRBT aspirants had been demanding the publication of the merit list. Frustration had mounted, leading to numerous deputations and demonstrations. Throughout this time, the government had remained reticent and non-committal on the matter.
In response to this significant development, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha extended his heartfelt congratulations to all the aspirants who qualified in the JRBT-conducted examination for Group-C posts. The Chief Minister’s message of encouragement and support was warmly received by the triumphant candidates.
Notably, the decision by Dr. Manik Saha-led cabinet to make the Pre-Recruitment Training Course (PRTC) mandatory for government jobs played a pivotal role in providing more opportunities to the state’s young talents. This move has not only enhanced the caliber of candidates but has also strengthened the state’s commitment to nurturing its youth.
The recruitment process included a written examination and interviews for a total of 2410 Group-C posts. Regrettably, JRBT could not make recommendations for 430 posts, which included 37 for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and 34 for Ex-Service Men. The unfulfilled posts encompassed 199 in the UR (Unreserved) category, 153 in the ST (Scheduled Tribe) category, and 78 in the SC (Scheduled Caste) category.
As per the official notification, all certificates of the recommended candidates will undergo thorough verification by the relevant departments. This process will ensure that candidates meet the stipulated terms and conditions of eligibility before the issuance of offers or appointments, maintaining the integrity of the recruitment process.
This long-awaited announcement marks a significant milestone for both the aspirants and the state of Tripura, providing hope and opportunities for the youth and contributing to the celebration of Durga Puja with added enthusiasm.
