During the virtual launch, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha lauded the Ayushman Bhava Abhiyan, emphasizing that this initiative would ensure healthcare access to every member of society, regardless of their circumstances.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership at the central government level has propelled the primary objective of this new initiative, which is to provide healthcare services in both rural and urban areas while raising mass awareness about various health services. Dr. Saha himself also inaugurated the state-level implementation of Ayushman Bhava.
As part of the Ayushman Bhava Abhiyan, “Seva Pakhwada” will be observed from September 17, coinciding with the Prime Minister’s birthday, to October 2, Gandhi Jayanti. This observance will unfold in three phases: Ayushman Apke Duar (Health at Your Doorstep), Ayushman Mela (Health Fair), and Ayushman Sabha (Health Assembly), as outlined by the Chief Minister.
Dr. Saha underscored the state government’s unwavering commitment to bolstering the health infrastructure in state, district, and sub-divisional hospitals to ensure comprehensive healthcare coverage for all residents. He noted that the state already houses Medical Colleges, Dental Colleges, Nursing Colleges, and other healthcare institutions, with plans in place to develop a robust medical hub. Investors have expressed interest in contributing to the state’s healthcare sector, indicating positive prospects for growth.
The virtual launch ceremony also saw the participation of Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, as well as Governors and Chief Ministers from various states, further highlighting the collaborative and nationwide nature of Ayushman Bhava.
In a heartening gesture, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha felicitated three “Ni-kshay Mitras” for their dedicated support to TB patients and three other individuals for their unwavering commitment to organ donation, recognizing their invaluable contributions to the healthcare ecosystem.
The launch of the Ayushman Bhava Abhiyan stands as a momentous step towards achieving universal healthcare access and strengthening healthcare infrastructure, echoing the government’s commitment to the welfare of its citizens.
