A post-election review meeting was organized at the Pradesh Congress headquarters to discuss the overall situation in the state after the recent assembly elections and the party’s stance. TPCC president Birijit Sinha presided over the meeting, which was attended by various leaders, including Ex-MLA Asish Kumar Saha.
Speaking to reporters, TPCC president Birijit Sinha stated that the meeting with district presidents and leaders at various levels aimed to implement decisions made by the party chief during a meeting in Udaipur, Rajasthan. He further added, “Within the next 10 days, all organizational decisions will be implemented in the state, following the directions of national leaders.”
Sinha emphasized that a detailed report had been prepared regarding attacks on Congress leaders and workers by miscreants allegedly backed by the BJP across the state. The report will be submitted to the Governor, Chief Minister, senior police officials, and other relevant authorities, urging immediate action against the culprits. Sinha expressed concerns about incidents of hooliganism and forceful extortion of money taking place in various parts of the state, despite the Chief Minister’s call to end such activities.
Ex-MLA Asish Kumar Saha strongly condemned the attacks on Congress activists and supporters during his conversation with reporters. He specifically highlighted the recent attack on 6-Agartala youth Congress president Debasish Saha, stating that his house in Ujan Abhoynagar was vandalized by alleged BJP-backed hoodlums. Saha expressed disappointment in the police’s lack of action despite immediate reporting of the incident.
The Congress leaders also expressed gratitude to the people of Karnataka for electing the party to power, highlighting the recent success in the state.
The post-election review meeting showcased the party’s determination to address issues related to attacks on Congress members and supporters. It remains to be seen how the authorities will respond to the detailed report and demands for action against the culprits, as raised by the Congress leaders.
