Tripura CM Dr. Manik Saha reviewed the Task Monitoring System, stressing accountability, timely implementation, and transparent governance. He also conducted a surprise inspection at GB Pant Hospital, directing officials to improve infrastructure, resolve patient issues, and strengthen healthcare services across the state.
Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha chaired a comprehensive review meeting on the state’s Task Monitoring System with senior government officials, District Magistrates, and Superintendents of Police, emphasizing timely implementation of government initiatives, better coordination among departments, and greater accountability across all levels of administration.
During the high-level review meeting, the Chief Minister assessed the progress of several key government programmes and ongoing developmental initiatives being implemented across the state. He directed officials to closely monitor every assigned task and ensure that projects are completed within the stipulated timelines without unnecessary delays.
Dr. Saha underlined that effective governance depends on transparent monitoring, regular reviews, and coordinated efforts among administrative departments. He reiterated that the state government remains fully committed to delivering public services efficiently and ensuring that welfare schemes reach beneficiaries in a timely and transparent manner.
“The government remains committed to ensuring efficient governance, transparent monitoring, and the timely delivery of public services for the welfare of the people,” the Chief Minister said while urging officers to maintain accountability and strengthen administrative efficiency.
Following the review meeting, the Chief Minister, who also holds the Health portfolio, conducted a surprise inspection at the Govind Ballabh Pant (GB Pant) Hospital in Agartala to assess healthcare services, hospital infrastructure, and facilities available to patients.
During the inspection, Dr. Saha visited different sections of the hospital and interacted with officials regarding infrastructure maintenance, the availability of doctors and allied health staff, patient care facilities, and the overall functioning of the institution. He directed the concerned authorities to immediately address deficiencies wherever required.
Speaking to the media after the inspection, Dr. Saha said GB Pant Hospital serves as the state’s premier referral hospital, receiving patients from every district of Tripura. Owing to the heavy patient load, he stressed the importance of maintaining quality healthcare services and ensuring that patients do not face unnecessary inconvenience.
He instructed the Health Secretary and departmental officials to take immediate steps to restore and repair infrastructure wherever necessary and to resolve all issues affecting patient care. The Chief Minister also assured that he would revisit the hospital to review the progress of the directives issued during the inspection.
Dr. Saha further announced that he would hold separate meetings with the Executive Engineers responsible for GB Pant Hospital and IGM Hospital to expedite pending works and ensure long-term solutions to infrastructure-related challenges.
He said that after the successful inauguration of the Civil Hospital, the government is exploring similar development initiatives for GB Pant Hospital. According to him, the hospital has a strong infrastructure base that can be further upgraded through proper planning and execution.

The Chief Minister also informed that every department of the hospital would undergo detailed inspection, while renovation work in the medicine ward is already underway. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening the state’s healthcare infrastructure and improving the quality of medical services for the people of Tripura.

Health Secretary Kiran Gitte and senior officials of the Health Department accompanied the Chief Minister during the inspection.
