Tripura Guv Indra Sena Reddy Nallu directed Tripura University Vice-Chancellor Prof Debabrata Das to strengthen research, expedite recruitment to vacant posts, improve administrative efficiency, enhance campus infrastructure and promote a disciplined work culture to boost academic excellence and institutional development.
Governor and Chief Rector of Tripura University, Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, on Sunday directed the university administration to place greater emphasis on high-quality research, expedite the recruitment process for vacant posts, improve administrative efficiency and foster a disciplined work culture to strengthen the institution’s academic standards and overall performance.
The Governor issued the directions during a meeting with Tripura University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Debabrata Das at the Raj Bhavan. The meeting focused on the university’s academic progress, administrative functioning, infrastructure development and future priorities aimed at enhancing the institution’s role as a leading centre of higher education.
During the interaction, Prof. Das briefed the Governor on the university’s ongoing academic programmes, administrative activities and various initiatives being undertaken to improve teaching, research and campus management. He also updated the Governor on several developmental projects and institutional reforms currently in progress.
Expressing the need to further improve the quality of higher education, Governor Nallu stressed that research should remain one of the university’s foremost priorities. He said that strengthening research activities would contribute significantly to academic excellence, innovation and the university’s national reputation.
The Governor also highlighted the importance of filling vacant teaching and non-teaching posts without unnecessary delay. He observed that timely recruitment would help ensure the smooth functioning of academic and administrative departments while improving the quality of education and student services.
Administrative efficiency was another major area of discussion during the meeting. The Governor emphasised the need for transparent and effective governance within the university and encouraged the authorities to maintain a disciplined work culture across all departments. He noted that efficient administration and accountability are essential for achieving institutional goals and delivering quality education.
Campus development also figured prominently in the discussions. Governor Nallu called for continuous improvement of the university’s infrastructure to provide a better academic environment for students, faculty members and staff. He underlined that modern facilities and a well-maintained campus play a crucial role in supporting learning, research and overall institutional growth.
According to officials, the meeting also reviewed various issues related to the functioning of Tripura University and examined its future roadmap. The discussions focused on measures to strengthen academic standards, improve governance and accelerate institutional development in line with the university’s long-term objectives.
