Actor and lyricist Piyush Mishra revisited the National School of Drama campus, recalling cherished memories from his student days. Sharing an emotional video with his poem “Wo Suhane Din,” the veteran artist celebrated the institution that shaped his remarkable journey in Indian cinema and theatre.

A wave of nostalgia swept through social media after acclaimed actor, lyricist, singer, and playwright Piyush Mishra revisited the campus of the prestigious National School of Drama, where he once trained as a student before becoming one of India’s most respected creative voices.

The veteran performer shared a heartfelt video on Tuesday, taking followers on a quiet walk through the NSD campus that played a defining role in shaping his artistic journey. Mishra, who graduated from the institution in 1986, captioned the clip simply with “NSD” and a red heart emoji, signaling an emotional connection with the place that launched his career in theatre and cinema.

The video carried a deeply reflective mood as the actor used his own poem, “Wo Purane Din, Wo Suhane Din,” as the background score. The poem added emotional depth to the visuals, turning the short campus tour into a tribute to memories, friendships, and the formative years of artistic struggle and learning.

In one particularly touching moment, Mishra was seen pointing toward a tree on the campus grounds, possibly revisiting a favorite gathering spot from his student days. The gesture resonated with admirers of the actor, many of whom praised the simplicity and emotional honesty of the moment online.

Known for his intense performances and powerful writing, Mishra has carved a unique space in Indian entertainment over the years. His journey from theatre classrooms to mainstream cinema has inspired countless aspiring actors and writers. After graduating from NSD, he eventually entered films with a debut role in Dil Se.., directed by Mani Ratnam and starring Shah Rukh Khan alongside Manisha Koirala.

Over the decades, Mishra went on to deliver memorable performances in critically acclaimed projects including Gangs of Wasseypur, Pink, Maqbool, Rockstar, Tamasha, Gulaal, and Happy Bhag Jayegi. His performances often stand out for their emotional complexity and grounded realism.

Apart from acting, Mishra is equally celebrated for his contributions to music and poetry. Songs like Aarambh Hai Prachand, Ik Bagal, Arre Ruk Ja Re Bandeh, and Husna have earned cult popularity for their lyrical depth and emotional resonance.

On the professional front, the actor was last seen in the comedy-drama Rahu Ketu featuring Varun Sharma and Pulkit Samrat. Directed by Vipul Vig, the film was backed by Zee Studios and BLive Productions, and released earlier this year on January 16.
