Tripura Pradesh Mahila Congress staged a protest in Agartala against the rising inflation and the prices of essential commodities and fuel going out of the common man’s reach.
The protest organised in front of the Agartala Congress Bhawan was led by party activists Lakshi Nag. The Congress workers blamed the Central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and alleged that the government completely failed to control the price rise of essential commodities.
“The price of LPG cooking gas cylinder is yet again hiked for the fourth consecutive time in a year by Rs. 50 per 14.2 kg cylinder, which perhaps is triggering fire in the kitchen of the homemakers,” she said, adding that the price of essential commodities including medicines, petrol diesel and edible oils is soaring to go out of the reach of the common people and especially the poor section.
The Mahila Congress activists demanded the government to bring a control over the price hike and rescue the common people of the state and the country as a whole from hefty burden.
The state Youth Congress announced to launch a movement highlighting the problems of the unemployed youths in the state. While addressing a press meeting in Agartala on Wednesday, state president of the organization Rakhu Das.
He said, the organization would organize a three-day sit-in demonstration in Agartala from July 18 July 20 in support of nine charter point demands. Besides, a mass rally and gathering of the Pradesh Congress activists will be held at Orient Chowmani area of the capital city where All India Congress leaders will take part.
The major demands include the immediate release of JRBT test results, recruitment of all TET qualified candidates together, investigation into allegations of corruption in TSR recruitment by High Court judges, regularization of contract employees as promised, cessation of outsourcing, closure of cases filed against Youth Congress workers and many more.
