The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test- NEET (UG) 2025 today across over five thousand centres in the country and 13 cities abroad.

NEET UG 2025 examination has begun across the country.  The NTA in a statement, said that all preparations and logistical arrangements for organizing a safe and secure examination have been made.

Over 22.7 lakh candidates have registered for the examination, which will take place from 2 PM to 5 PM. The Mock Drills at all centres were successfully conducted earlier yesterday.

In a concerted effort to curb the spread of baseless rumours about the availability of NEET (UG) examination content, the NTA has taken up the cases reported through its “Suspicious Claims Portal with the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (14C).

The NTA added that as a result, action has been initiated against, over 165 Telegram channels and more than 32 Instagram accounts disseminating false information.

The NTA has urged all the candidates and their guardians to remain vigilant and not fall prey to individuals or groups who seek to manipulate or mislead them.

Students are advised to rely only on official communications from the NTA website and avoid engaging with unverified sources or middlemen claiming to influence the examination or admission process.

The medical entrance examination will be held at 5,453 centres in more than 500 cities nationwide.

In view of the controversies surrounding the exams in the past, including allegations of paper leaks and irregularities in 2024, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has significantly ramped up security and monitoring mechanisms.

Agencies quoting officials said, the Union Ministry of Education, a three-tier surveillance system will be in place during the examination at the district, state, and centre levels.

Most of the centres this year are located in government and government-aided schools, colleges, universities, and institutions.

To ensure transparency and prevent any malpractice, the NTA has released detailed guidelines along with the admit cards and exam city slips. Candidates are required to adhere strictly to the rules laid out by the testing agency. Any attempt at cheating, impersonation, or use of unfair means will invite strict penalties, including cancellation of results and a three-year ban from appearing in any NTA-conducted examination.

In its official advisory, the NTA has cautioned candidates against relying on unverified sources or individuals claiming to have influence over exam results or admissions. “Students are strongly advised to depend solely on the official updates available on the NTA’s website,” the advisory emphasised.
