Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya had laid foundation stone virtually today from New Delhi for new building of National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in Tripura. Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath and MLA Krishnadhan Das were present in the virtual programme from the Secretariat. The Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare had laid the foundation stone for new building of NCDC in Tripura as well as in six more states of the country.
“The NCDCs will provide a boost to public health infrastructure with prompt surveillance, rapid detection and monitoring of diseases, thereby enabling early interventions,” the Union health minister said at the online event.
“The government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modiji is committed to strengthening the health infrastructure across the country. There has been a shift from token to total approach where states are our partners in the spirit of collaborative and cooperative federalism to ensure quality, affordable and accessible healthcare to all,” he said.
It is to be noted that the centre will be set up on 1.41 Acre land at Sipaipara in Mohanpur at the cost of 11 crore 97 lakh rupees. CPWD is on the charge of constructing the new building. Diagnosis of disease, observation, research, public health awareness and health services will be available on emergency basis. Various facilities will be available in providing health services including monitoring of 33 contagious diseases. Director of Family Welfare & Preventive Diseases, Government of Tripura Dr. Radha Debbarma and CPWD officials were also present in the programme. The foundation stone for NCDC was also laid in Arunachal Pradesh other than Tripura.
