The draft list of 1,540 polling stations for the 2026 TTAADC Village Committee elections has been published across 52 blocks in Tripura, with Manu and Jampuijala recording the highest number of polling centres ahead of the Supreme Court-directed polls.
The draft list of polling stations for the upcoming Village Committee general elections under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) has officially been published, according to officials from the State Election Department on Wednesday.
Officials stated that a total of 1,540 polling stations have been identified across 52 administrative blocks in Tripura for the conduct of the elections. The publication of the draft list marks a major administrative step toward the preparation of the Village Committee polls, which are scheduled to take place in June 2026.
Among all the blocks, Manu has been assigned the highest number of polling stations with 87 centres, while Jampuijala follows closely with 81 polling stations. Election officials said the allocation was made based on voter distribution, geographical requirements, and administrative convenience to ensure smooth conduct of the elections.
In contrast, Rajnagar and Bharat Chandra Nagar blocks have been allotted only two polling stations each. Kalachhara block has been assigned three polling stations, making them the blocks with the lowest number of designated polling centres in the draft publication.
The State Election Department further informed that the draft list has been prepared in accordance with election guidelines and administrative assessments conducted across the TTAADC areas. Authorities are expected to review objections and suggestions, if any, before releasing the final list of polling stations.
The Village Committee elections hold significant importance in the tribal autonomous council areas, as they determine grassroots-level local governance under the TTAADC administration.

The elections are scheduled to be conducted in June 2026 following directions issued earlier by the Supreme Court, which had instructed the authorities to complete the electoral process within the stipulated timeframe. Officials said preparations are progressing steadily to ensure peaceful and transparent elections across all designated polling centres in the state.
