Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha praised Himanta Biswa Sarma’s leadership as Assam began a new political chapter with the BJP-led government’s swearing-in ceremony attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior NDA leaders.
A new political chapter began in Assam on Tuesday as Himanta Biswa Sarma took oath as the Chief Minister of Assam for a second consecutive term during a grand swearing-in ceremony attended by top national leaders and Chief Ministers from several NDA-ruled states.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha attended the ceremony and congratulated Himanta Biswa Sarma and the members of the BJP-led cabinet 3.0 after they officially assumed office. The event marked another significant moment for the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Northeast, reflecting the party’s continued political dominance in the region.
In a social media statement following the ceremony, Dr. Manik Saha praised the leadership of Himanta Biswa Sarma and said Assam has witnessed remarkable transformation under his governance. He stated that the state is moving ahead with unprecedented development, peace, stability, and progress under the dynamic leadership of the Assam Chief Minister.
Dr. Saha further emphasized that the people of Assam have once again expressed their confidence in Himanta Biswa Sarma’s leadership and vision for a “Viksit Assam.” He highlighted the role of the “Double Engine Government,” referring to the BJP governments at both the Centre and the state level working together for rapid growth and development.
According to Dr. Saha, the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has played a major role in accelerating infrastructure growth, maintaining peace, and ensuring overall progress across Assam and the Northeast region. He said the BJP-led administration remains committed to fulfilling the aspirations of the people through strong governance and development-oriented policies.
On the sidelines of the event, the Tripura Chief Minister also congratulated Union Home Minister Amit Shah for the BJP’s major electoral victories in Assam and West Bengal. Before attending the oath-taking ceremony, Dr. Saha met BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) B. L. Santosh and discussed several organizational matters related to the party. Describing the interaction as fruitful, Dr. Saha said the meeting focused on strengthening party activities and coordination.
The swearing-in ceremony witnessed the presence of several prominent leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP National President Nitin Nabin, Union ministers, and Chief Ministers from various NDA-ruled states. Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya administered the oath of office to Himanta Biswa Sarma and the newly inducted cabinet ministers.
Soon after taking oath, Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his continuous guidance and leadership, which he described as the biggest motivating factor behind the Assam government’s journey of service and dedication.
He also thanked BJP National President Nitin Nabin for energizing party workers across Assam and ensuring the message of good governance reached every household in the state. Sarma additionally acknowledged the support and mentorship of Amit Shah, saying the Union Home Minister stood firmly with the Assam government in its efforts to restore peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.
The Assam Chief Minister also extended gratitude to BJP workers across the state for their hard work and dedication during the election campaign, calling the victory historic for the party and the people of Assam.
