Tripura’s organic queen pineapple and organic scented lemon have entered Dubai’s international retail market, marking a major export milestone. Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath said the achievement will boost farmers’ incomes, expand organic exports, and strengthen Tripura’s global identity in premium horticultural products.
In a landmark achievement for Tripura’s agricultural sector, the state’s renowned organic queen pineapple and organic scented lemon have made their debut in the international retail market in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The development marks a significant milestone in Tripura’s efforts to promote organic farming and establish its premium horticultural products in global markets.
Announcing the achievement, Tripura Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath expressed pride over the accomplishment, describing it as a historic moment for the state and its farming community. He said the successful entry of Tripura’s organic produce into Dubai’s competitive retail sector reflects the dedication and hard work of farmers, the continuous support of the Agriculture Department, and the state government’s sustained commitment to expanding the reach of organic agriculture.
Calling it a proud moment for Tripura, Nath said the achievement demonstrates the growing international recognition of the state’s high-quality organic produce. He noted that Tripura’s queen pineapple, already known for its exceptional sweetness, aroma and quality, along with its organic scented lemon, has now gained access to one of the world’s leading retail markets, opening new avenues for agricultural exports.
The Minister emphasized that the milestone is expected to create fresh economic opportunities for the state’s farmers. According to him, increased international demand for Tripura’s organic fruits will contribute to higher incomes for cultivators while encouraging more farmers to adopt organic farming practices. He added that the government has consistently worked towards improving production standards, strengthening supply chains, and ensuring that locally grown products meet international quality requirements.
“This achievement reflects the dedication and hard work of our farmers, the commitment of the Agriculture Department, and the Government’s continuous efforts to promote organic farming and connect Tripura’s premium agricultural products with global markets,” Nath said.
He further stated that the successful export to Dubai is not merely a commercial achievement but also an important step in building Tripura’s identity as a producer of world-class organic horticultural products. The Minister expressed confidence that the international exposure would enhance the state’s reputation and pave the way for additional export opportunities in other countries.
Officials associated with the Agriculture Department observed that entering Dubai’s international retail market is a major breakthrough for Tripura’s organic sector. The UAE serves as a strategic gateway for global trade, and the presence of Tripura’s products on retail shelves there is expected to increase visibility among international consumers and importers. The development is also likely to encourage exporters and agribusiness stakeholders to explore new overseas markets for the state’s agricultural produce.
The state government has been actively promoting organic farming by supporting farmers through training, improved cultivation techniques, certification processes and market linkages. These initiatives have helped enhance the quality and marketability of Tripura’s horticultural products, enabling them to compete in international markets.
The latest export success is being viewed as a major boost to Tripura’s agricultural economy. With growing global demand for organic food products, the state hopes to further expand exports of its premium fruits and other organic commodities in the coming years.
