Tripura CM Dr. Manik Saha directed officials to strengthen public welfare measures, intensify anti-drug operations, improve healthcare services, prevent water shortages, accelerate infrastructure projects, and monitor vaccination progress during a high-level administrative review meeting held at the state secretariat.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Wednesday directed officials across all levels of the administration to work in a more active, responsible, and coordinated manner to strengthen public welfare measures and improve governance throughout the state.
The instructions were issued during a Task Monitoring System meeting conducted through video conference from the state secretariat, where the Chief Minister reviewed the overall administrative condition of the state, healthcare services, infrastructure development projects, and law-and-order issues.
During the high-level review meeting, Dr. Saha made it clear that the state government would maintain a strict stance against criminal activities and the growing threat of narcotics. He instructed law enforcement agencies to intensify anti-drug operations across Tripura and directed authorities to take firm legal action against unethical medicine traders involved in illegal activities.
The Chief Minister stressed that public safety and social stability remain top priorities of the government. He asked police and administrative officials to maintain close coordination in order to ensure effective implementation of anti-crime measures in every district.
Healthcare infrastructure and medical services also received major attention during the meeting. Dr. Saha reviewed the present condition of hospitals in Dharmanagar, Kumarghat, and Belonia, focusing on healthcare delivery, infrastructure development, and overall medical management systems. He issued necessary directives to improve patient care and strengthen hospital facilities in these institutions.
The meeting also included a detailed review of the measles situation in various districts of the state and the progress of ongoing vaccination drives. Officials informed the Chief Minister about the measures being taken to contain the spread of the disease and increase immunisation coverage. Dr. Saha instructed the concerned departments to ensure effective monitoring and timely implementation of vaccination programmes.
In addition, the Chief Minister directed officials to bring AIDS patients under proper treatment coverage through necessary interventions and healthcare support systems. He emphasised the importance of ensuring accessible healthcare services for vulnerable sections of society.
Addressing another important humanitarian issue, Dr. Saha instructed concerned departments to take immediate steps to facilitate treatment at All India Institute of Medical Sciences for a specially-abled girl from Sepahijala district. The Chief Minister asked officials to ensure that all required assistance is provided without delay.
On matters related to social welfare, the Chief Minister directed officials to regularly monitor the functioning and maintenance of various government homes and welfare institutions. He also reviewed the progress of the rehabilitation centre under construction at Bishramganj and asked authorities to expedite the work while maintaining quality standards.
Water supply management during the upcoming dry season also emerged as a key issue during the meeting. Dr. Saha instructed the administration to remain alert to prevent any possible drinking water crisis in different regions of the state. He further directed departments to ensure timely completion of projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission while maintaining proper quality standards in implementation.
Infrastructure development and transport connectivity were discussed extensively. The Chief Minister instructed authorities to maintain strict monitoring on overloaded stone-carrying vehicles to prevent road damage and ensure public safety. He also emphasised speedy, transparent, and quality execution of national highway construction projects and Bailey bridge renovation works across the state.
Dr. Saha additionally directed officials to ensure quick repair of roads damaged during the monsoon season and stressed the importance of maintaining cleanliness in urban and rural areas through timely garbage clearance.
The meeting also reviewed issues related to school development, educational environment improvement, and land-related administrative matters. The Chief Minister directed officials to accelerate development works at the revered Tripura Sundari Temple and surrounding areas in Udaipur to improve infrastructure and facilities for visitors and devotees.

Senior officials present during the meeting included Officer on Special Duty Apurba Roy, Health Secretary Kiran Gitte, Secretary Abhishek Singh, Secretary P. K. Goyal, and Director of Information and Cultural Affairs Bimbisar Bhattacharjee. District Magistrates, Superintendents of Police, and senior administrative officials from all eight districts also joined the meeting virtually.
