Reiterating the state government’s commitment to inclusive development and socio-economic transformation, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 20 development projects worth Rs. 65.40 crore in Sepahijala district. Covering the Revenue, Health and Education departments, the projects are expected to significantly improve public infrastructure and essential services across the district.

Addressing a public gathering, the Chief Minister said that the government is working tirelessly to bring smiles to the faces of people living not only in urban areas but also in villages and remote hilly regions through sustained development and improved socio-economic conditions.

“Today’s inauguration and foundation stone laying of 20 projects worth Rs. 65.40 crore in Sepahijala district is another important milestone in our journey of development. These initiatives will greatly benefit the people of the district in the coming years,” Dr. Saha said.

He emphasized that the government’s development strategy focuses on balanced growth, ensuring that infrastructure and public welfare projects reach every corner of the state without discrimination. According to him, strengthening healthcare facilities, educational institutions and revenue infrastructure remains a priority to improve the quality of life for citizens.

Dr. Saha also expressed satisfaction over the transformation taking place in Sepahijala district. He stated that the district has steadily moved beyond the social and political negativity of previous years and is now progressing confidently on the path of development.

“I am extremely happy and proud that Sepahijala district is now advancing with a positive developmental outlook. I congratulate the people of the district as well as the administration for their collective efforts,” he remarked.

Highlighting the state’s broader infrastructure drive, the Chief Minister informed that since the last financial year, he has personally inaugurated and laid foundation stones for projects worth nearly Rs. 1,500 crore across Tripura. He said these initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to accelerating economic growth and improving public services throughout the state.

Speaking about the government’s long-term vision, Dr. Saha said that under the leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Tripura is working to transform its Aspirational Districts and Aspirational Blocks into Inspirational Districts and Inspirational Blocks by strengthening governance, infrastructure and public service delivery.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the state’s achievements in governance and administration. He noted that Tripura has emerged as a model of good governance and administrative reforms, receiving more than 350 awards at national and regional levels over the past eight years. These recognitions, he said, demonstrate the state’s consistent efforts to improve governance standards and implement citizen-centric policies.

Referring to infrastructure-led economic development, Dr. Saha said that the government’s sustained investment in roads, public facilities and industrial infrastructure has created a business-friendly environment that is attracting private investment into the state.

He revealed that Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth more than Rs. 30,000 crore were signed during the previous year, while groundwork for investment proposals worth approximately Rs. 8,000 crore has already commenced. He further stated that capital expenditure in the current state budget has increased to nearly Rs. 10,000 crore, reflecting the government’s emphasis on long-term infrastructure development.

The Chief Minister also recalled the national recognition received by the Sepahijala District Panchayat, which was honoured as the best District Panchayat in the country, describing it as an achievement that reflects the district’s improving governance and developmental performance.

The programme was attended by Sepahijala Zilla Sabhadhipati Supriya Das Dutta, MLAs Sushanta Deb and Antara Sarkar Deb, Sepahijala District Magistrate Siddhartha Shiv Jaiswal, along with several elected representatives, senior government officials and local residents.

With the launch of these 20 development projects, the Tripura government expects to strengthen public infrastructure, improve access to healthcare and education, generate better opportunities for socio-economic advancement and further reinforce its vision of balanced and inclusive development across urban centres, rural villages and remote hill areas. The projects are expected to contribute significantly to enhancing the quality of public services while supporting the state’s broader objective of sustainable economic growth and improved living standards for all citizens.
