Tripura Shines at National Youth Festival 2025, Excels in Folk Dance and Science Exhibition

Tripura achieved remarkable success at the National Youth Festival and Vikshit Bharat National Youth Dialogue 2025, held at Bharat Mandapam under the patronage of the Prime Minister of India. Organized by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the event on January 11th saw Tripura’s participants shine in multiple categories, earning accolades and bringing pride to the state.

In the Group Folk Dance category, Tripura secured the 3rd position for their vibrant and culturally rich performance, showcasing the state’s traditional heritage. Maharashtra won the 1st position, followed by Karnataka in 2nd place. Despite facing tough competition, Tripura’s team stood out with their intricate choreography and stunning presentation, winning praise from judges and audiences alike.

The state’s delegation also performed exceptionally well in the Science Mela, where the innovative exhibition by Sadhan Saha and Tanmoy Das earned them the 3rd prize. Their project demonstrated creativity and scientific rigor, placing them among the top contenders in this highly competitive category. Maharashtra’s Vishwasmrayadnyi Ramraje Mane won 1st place, while Haryana’s Ridhima Kapoor secured the 2nd position.

While Tripura shone brightest in these categories, the festival also celebrated talent from across India in various competitions. In the Group Folk Song category, Manipur claimed the 1st position, followed by Karnataka and Maharashtra. In Story Writing, Uttar Pradesh’s Arya Sharma took the top prize, while Ningthoujan of Manipur and Amit Kumar of Uttar Pradesh came 2nd and 3rd, respectively. The Poetry Writing competition was led by Uttar Pradesh’s Sunaina Saxena, with Haryana’s Lavanya Malik and Madhya Pradesh’s Sanjaydatt Sharma finishing 2nd and 3rd. Artistic talents flourished in the Painting competition, with Ajay Kumar of Uttar Pradesh winning 1st place, followed by Jagannath Das of Odisha and Anamika Gupta of Rajasthan. The Declamation competition saw Maharashtra’s Anushka Banerjee emerge as the winner, with Jharkhand’s Swati Raj and Jammu and Kashmir’s Sneha Devi in 2nd and 3rd places, respectively.

The achievements of Tripura’s teams in both the Folk Dance and Science Exhibition categories were celebrated by officials from the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports as well as Tripura’s state authorities. The winning teams received heartfelt congratulations from state dignitaries and Youth Icons who attended the festival.

These accolades underline Tripura’s growing prominence on the national stage, as the state continues to promote its cultural richness and intellectual talent. The success of Tripura’s representatives not only brought glory to the state but also served as an inspiration to its youth, encouraging them to excel in diverse fields.
