Tripura Government Transfers Two DMs, Assigns Additional Charges

In a recent administrative reshuffle, the Tripura state government on Tuesday transferred two District Magistrates (DMs) and reassigned responsibilities among senior IAS officers. The changes were announced through an official notification, impacting key positions across multiple departments.
Key Transfers and Appointments

Dr. Debapriya Bardhan, who was serving as the DM and Collector of North Tripura, has been transferred and posted as Special Secretary. Upon assuming charge, he will oversee the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Department independently.

Raval Hamendra Kumar, who previously held the additional charge of the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Department, has been relieved of these duties.

Chandni Chandran, currently the DM and Collector of Khowai district, has been transferred to North Tripura, replacing Dr. Bardhan.

Rajan Pant, presently the Director of Urban Development, also managing several additional roles—including Commissioner of TUDA, Mission Director of Swachha Bharat Mission (Grameen), CEO of Tripura Jal Board, and Joint Secretary in the Rural Development Department (Panchayat and MGNREGA)—has been transferred and appointed as DM and Collector of Khowai district.
Additional Charge Allocations
Following the reshuffle, Dr. Shailesh has been assigned multiple key responsibilities. He will now oversee the following roles:
- Director, Urban Development
- Commissioner, Tripura Urban Development Authority (TUDA)
- Mission Director, Swachha Bharat Mission (Grameen)
- CEO, Tripura Jal Board
- Additional Secretary, Rural Development Department (MGNREGA and Panchayat)
This bureaucratic reshuffle is part of the state government's efforts to streamline governance and improve administrative efficiency.
