New Delhi/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers to refrain from making unnecessary comments on films or personalities in the backdrop of the controversy over Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khans upcoming film Pathaan, media reports said.

Speaking at the BJPs national executive meeting, Modi on Tuesday said as quoted by several media, No one should make unnecessary comments that would overshadow the hard work we do.

A BJP office bearer, who was present in the meeting, said as quoted by The Indian Express, In his speech yesterday, the prime minister cautioned those who make statements to grab headlines.

He told them that they should refrain from doing so. He said that sometimes the comments on films or personalities overshadow the hard work we have done.

Modis comment comes after several BJP leaders had objected to the saffron-coloured bikini worn by Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone in the Besharam Rang song from Pathaan.
