India’s all-party delegation visits Japan under Operation Sindoor, reinforcing its zero-tolerance stance on terrorism. Key meetings with Japanese leaders and think tanks highlight India’s call for global support against Pakistan-backed terror and justice for victims of the Pahalgam attack.

An all-party parliamentary delegation from India, led by Janata Dal (United) MP Sanjay Jha, is in Japan under the global outreach campaign “Operation Sindoor” to consolidate international support against terrorism. The delegation’s visit aims to underscore India’s firm and unified stance against terrorism and expose Pakistan’s continued support for cross-border terror networks.

On Friday, the Indian delegation met Yasuhiro Hanashi, Acting Chairperson of the Research Committee on Counter-terrorism of Japan’s ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and former Minister of Justice. During the meeting, both sides reiterated a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism, underscoring the need for coordinated international action against extremist threats.

“All-Party Delegation from India met Yasuhiro Hanashi… India’s unified and determined stance against terrorism in all its forms was highlighted. Both sides reiterated their zero-tolerance approach to terrorism,” posted the Indian Embassy in Japan on X.

Earlier the same day, the delegation engaged with the Diplomatic Corps in Tokyo at the Indian Embassy, reaffirming India’s unwavering commitment to combat terrorism. This outreach was a key part of India’s broader diplomatic efforts post the April 22 Pahalgam attack, which has intensified the nation’s campaign to hold Pakistan accountable for harboring terrorist outfits like Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM).

The delegation includes a diverse representation from major Indian political parties: BJP MPs Aparajita Sarangi and Brij Lal, Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee, CPI(M) Rajya Sabha member John Barittas, and senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid.

On Thursday, the delegation participated in the Inaugural Session of Raisina Tokyo 2025, an Indo-Pacific strategic dialogue. Speakers at the session strongly endorsed India’s anti-terrorism stance and reaffirmed the region’s collective resolve to counter terrorism.

In another crucial engagement, the Indian delegation met Takashi Endo, Chairman of the Japanese House of Representatives Committee on National Security. Endo expressed Japan’s strong support for India, particularly in the wake of the recent Pahalgam attack. The delegation also held a significant meeting with Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya. Minister Iwaya praised India’s restraint and reiterated Japan’s support in bringing the perpetrators of terror attacks to justice.

“Reiterated our national resolve to act firmly against terror and those who support it. Grateful for Japan’s support and for calling for justice against perpetrators of such acts,” posted Sanjay Jha on X after the meeting.

Further deepening diplomatic ties, the delegation met with former Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, now Vice President of the ruling LDP and Chairman of the Japan-India Association. Suga assured continued Japanese support for India’s counter-terrorism efforts.

The delegation also engaged with Japanese think tanks, briefing them on India’s zero-tolerance policy and presenting evidence of Pakistan’s backing of terror outfits. These interactions reflect India’s strategic objective to build a broad international consensus and pressure on Pakistan for its sustained support of terrorism.
