Shadow of Covid infection looms large over Tripura once again as the state recorded 15 fresh Covid positive cases
Official records said, the new cases have been reported from four districts- West Tripura (4), Gomati (3), Sepahijala (7) and South Tripura (1).
As per the report, 498 samples have been tested in the past 24 hours. Among them, 15 samples have been detected positive in Rapid Antigen Test (RAT)—the positivity rate is 3.01 per cent.
As of now, 41 Covid-infected persons are under treatment while four patients have recovered on Wednesday
The order said, in order to contain the spread of the virus, Tripura Government has strengthened the surveillance and control measures against the disease.
In Tripura, total 1,00,946 Covid positive cases have been reported so far and the coronavirus has claimed total 920 lives.
Eid-Ul-Adha : Govt restricts illegal slaughter of animals
Ahead of the celebration of Eid-Ul-Adha – the festival of sacrifice, the Tripura government asked district administrations and the state police to check illegal butchering of cows, camels and other animals across the state.
The letter of the Office of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Sonamura, Sephaijala district issued on July 4 last, directed the police, department of Animal Resource Development and Agriculture department to initiate legal action against anyone found violating the rules laid down by the Union government for transportation and slaughtering of animals.
Earlier, previous month, the Director of Animal Resources Development department, DK Chakma in his letter to the District Magistrates and police asked the concerned authorities of the districts to take necessary actions against the offenders of illegal killing/sacrifice of cows/calves/camels and other animals on the occasion of Bakrid-2022.
Nevertheless, despite the directives of the government, preparations are going in full swing for Eid-Ul-Adha at Boxanagar market in Sonamura sub-division, where a bee-storm gathering of people mainly belonging to the Muslim community could be witnessed as a large number of cattle were brought to the market for sale ahead of the celebration.
