NEET UG 2026 re-examination will be held on June 21 after cancellation over alleged paper leak concerns. NTA confirmed the fresh exam date with government approval, while the CBI intensified its investigation into the suspected examination malpractice network across multiple states.

Fresh uncertainty surrounding one of India’s largest medical entrance examinations continued on Friday after the National Testing Agency (NTA) officially announced that the re-examination for NEET (UG) 2026 will be conducted on June 21. The decision was approved by the Government of India following the cancellation of the earlier examination amid allegations linked to a suspected paper leak and concerns over examination integrity.

In an official announcement posted on X, the NTA confirmed that the NEET (UG) 2026 re-test would take place on Sunday, June 21. The agency stated that the fresh examination schedule had been finalized after consultations and approval from the Centre.

The agency also urged students and parents not to rely on unofficial sources or social media speculation regarding the examination process. Candidates were advised to follow only official communication channels for updates, notifications, admit cards, and further examination-related instructions. NTA shared its official contact information, including its email support and helpline numbers, to address queries from students across the country.

The re-examination announcement comes after the NTA earlier cancelled the NEET (UG) 2026 examination conducted on May 3. According to official figures, nearly 22.79 lakh candidates had registered for the highly competitive medical entrance test this year, making it one of the largest entrance examinations in the country.

The cancellation decision triggered nationwide discussions and concerns among students, parents, and academic institutions. The NTA had stated that the move was taken after inputs were reviewed in coordination with central agencies and based on findings shared by law enforcement authorities investigating alleged irregularities connected to the examination process.

Authorities have maintained that protecting the fairness and transparency of the examination system remains the top priority. The controversy surrounding the examination has also intensified pressure on authorities to ensure stronger security arrangements and monitoring mechanisms during the re-conducted examination.

Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has significantly expanded its investigation into the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case. Officials confirmed that four accused individuals were brought to Delhi for detailed questioning as investigators attempt to identify the broader network allegedly involved in the racket.

Those under investigation include brothers Dinesh Binwal and Mangilal Binwal from Jaipur, Mangilal’s son Vikas, and Yash Yadav from Haryana. Investigators are conducting face-to-face interrogations at the CBI headquarters to establish links, trace communication chains, and identify possible associates connected to the alleged leak.

Earlier this week, CBI teams carried out extensive searches at properties linked to the Binwal family in Jaipur’s Jamwaramgarh area. Officials questioned family members and recorded statements while seizing documents, electronic devices, mobile phones, and digital records from residential and farmhouse locations connected to the accused.
