Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty to take on Malaysian duo in semifinals of Thailand Open

In Badminton, the Indian Men’s Doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will face Malaysian shuttlers Nur Izzuddin and Goh Sze Fei in the semifinals of the Thailand Open in Bangkok today. Earlier, the Indian duo defeated the Japanese pair of Takumi Nomura and Yuichi Shimogami 21-12, 21-13 in the quarter-final clash yesterday. Meanwhile, other ace Indian shuttlers, including P V Sindhu and Lakshya Sen, bowed out of the tournament. Sindhu lost 21-19, 18-21, 15-21 to world number three Akane Yamaguchi of Japan in the Women’s Singles quarterfinal. In Men’s Singles, Lakshya Sen lost to Thailand’s Kunlavut Vitidsarn 19-21, 16-21 in the quarterfinal clash.
