President of Mongolia, Khurelsukh Ukhnaa today visited the Parliament and was received by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla at Makar Dwar. Both leaders held bilateral talks. In his address, Mr Birla said that the partnership between India and Mongolia has vast potential in defence, health, IT, and economic cooperation. He underlined that both nations share several common traditions, from history to spiritual heritage. Mr Birla further stressed the growing parliamentary ties between them, crediting regular parliamentary exchanges as a key pillar of their relationship.
He expressed eagerness to further strengthen this tradition. The Lok Sabha Speaker also noted 70 years of India-Mongolia, and observed that the cooperation between the two countries has expanded into many new dimensions. He highlighted that the new Parliament building embodies the aspirations of 1.4 billion Indians, prominently featuring Buddhist philosophy.
During the occasion, President Ukhnaa emphasized India’s role as a key partner, describing it as Mongolia’s spiritual neighbour and a great friend. He hailed India as a rapidly growing economic power making meaningful contributions to global peace and stability. Applauding India’s leadership of the Global South, he expressed hope for continued collaboration between the two nations on multilateral platforms, grounded in mutual benefit.
